I have decided to fill a large flat rate box with craft supplies and do a Mother's Day Give-away. This box is stuffed full with just about every possible craft supply imaginable. Since I have 2 granddaughters that will draw the winner out of the cookie jar, I am also giving away a copy of Mary Janes Out Post to a second winner. That way there won't be any tears or fighting! The drawing will be May 6th.

Please post your favorite Mother's Day memory here and Good Luck!

Well the girls just finished pulling the names out of grandma's cookie jar and the winner of the craft box is Nana Shirl! The winner of the winner of Mary Janes Out Post is Country Treasure. Congratulations ladies and thank all of you for sharing your beautiful Mothers Day Memories. May each of you have a wonderful Mothers Day spending it with those you love and who love you!

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

Julie, what a nice thing to do! I think when my kids were little and wanted to make a surprise for me, they made Choc. cupcakes, the whole kitchen was a choc. cupcake when they were done, so of course I was surprised.

Way back in 1997 I wanted a picnic table really bad since we had finally bought our 1st home...well for mothers day I finally got one!....that thing has been used for BBQ's, sitting with a cup of coffee & reading on nice days & even moved to our new home in another town....the poor thing has been so used I had to tear it apart & rebuild parts of it cause I refuse to give it up!...yes we could get a new one but I love this one...right now its set up in the back yard & even my 'kids'...chickens are enjoying it...CeeCee my roo jumps on it & crows each day.....I know eventually it will have to go but until it no longer can hold any more nails or screws its staying!......Michele'

Would love to enter.

Well, that's a tough one to just pick one memory.

I remember, as kids we surprised my mother by putting a huge paper sign in the windshield of her van. She had to work, so we drove over to her work, got in the van and secretly put it up before she left. We also make large pans of red jello and cut letters out that said Happy Mother's Day.

Mom also told me that I was born on Mother's Day. :)

Every year, since my children were quite young, I get breakfast in bed, that is my favorite, to see their proud faces when they bring me in the tray, the numbers are dwindeling now though, 2 live in Florida and 2 are here, one just got married so I don't know what to expect this year!

When our 36 year old son went off to college he missed Mother's Day for the first time, but he left behind a letter for me with his Dad. I read it on Mother's Day and of course cried like a baby with the sentiments he wrote, I guess it was just as hard for him leaving home and his parents for the first time. What a gift that letter was/is, I treasure it and read it every Mother's Day, I keep it in my Bible.
Of course when hubby retired from the military a few months later we followed him to Colorado, we were living in Savannah when he left and I just could not stand being so far away from him. (He is our only child) Well, that was 18 years ago and we are all still in Colorado living just an hour and a half from each other.
Thanks so much for such a great give away Julie.
Good Luck to all my farmgirl sisters.
Hugs,
Debbie

One of my most memorable Mother's Day would have to have been just last Mothers Day. You see, I had lost my dear grandpa to cancer the year before.... he was 98 1/2 years old! Well last Mother's Day just so happened to fall on May 8th, 2011- which would have been my dear grandpa's 100th birthday- he was born 5/8/11 (1911!!!!- WOW).
I had the idea to get everyone together to honor him, so we all met at a local wildlife refuge, and brought a picnic brunch. We hiked and enjoyed nature- a love that I have thanks to my dear grandpa who was a nature loving man. We shared a wonderful brunch with pictures that we all brought along of times spent with grandpa and just sat and reminiced about good times. It was awesome! The icing on the cake was that my DH and DD and DS made me a beautiful T shirt that said Happy 100th Birthday Grandpa, with a great picture of him on it. I wore it ever so proudly in his honor. It was definately one of my favorite Mothers Day memories!

Thanks for the chance to share my memories, and for the chance to win your great giveaway!
Happy Mothers Day!
Hugs,

~Laurie

I have a sweet memory, plain n simple...just,"kissed my heart"! After my daughter married ,she and her brother, who was also out on his own, met me for tea..for Mothers day...they both had big ole cheezy smiles and were about to pop when we all set down to have our tea..they are still snickering n elbowing alittle bit... not too bad for a married chick...My daughter had brought me a sweet lil ole basket with blue n white gingham lining, filled withtiny lil cupcakes n such...and a doll made of ecru linen with a pretty wine n beige penafore over her soft linen body and a bonnet..She said now you have your own pretty doll...cause you always made sure I got on..and now it was my turn........my son had been watching with a twinkle in his eye, bout to bust..he was" on his knee, slipping this "purty" turquoise n silver bracelet,(quite a n impressive peace of work)out of a velvet bag..Here ya go mama...I traded my spurs for this purdy bracelet as he put it on my wrist, givin one last shine..yep..he is a big ole cowboy..with tears in his eyes..they both hugged each other misty eyed...the roles we were all used to playing had been reversed..an now my children were takin care of Mama....It was indeed my most memorable Mothers Day. Thand you for the chance to share a memory....and maybe win a great giveaway!!! Blessings n Happy Mothers Day!!! Shirl

My first Mother Day holding my baby and all of them when my Grandma's were still alive. Nothing more special than Grandma, Mom and babies.
