I agree, I hate cell phone bad manners too.
1) when the ear piece first came people would say hello, and I would automatically of course assume since they were only inches from me, they were speaking to me! And so I would nicely say hello back, and get the meanest looks! My husband tells me it's my own fault for assuming it's all about me...but really? I mean I would just assume if I am the only person around and some one comes by me and says hello....it's me, is it really that weird to think that? I still automatically say hello back, and still get the evil looks....it's like ingrained in me though it's hard for me not to say hello, when I'm the only person around and don't see a phone.....UHG!
2) yeah the people who call ME and say, "Who dis". I started saying, "I'm the person you called". (to which even though the evil looks I get from other cell users, is not supposedly rude according to my husband, my saying I'm the person you called IS rude!). They usually reply, with Who???? To which I continue to repeat that I am the person they called....till they finally get mad and hang up. I told my husband, I don't think I AM the rude one in these situations, cause when I think I have reached the wrong number or am confused by the person who answered the phone (doesn't sound like who I thought I was calling), I say, Sorry to bother you, but I was trying to call Ms X, my name is Heather, have I dialed the wrong number? To which the callee will respond with either that indeed I did dial the wrong number, or they are friend of Ms X, and she is inconvenient at the moment. But, I have NEVER, and hope to dear lord never would, call some one and utter the words, Who dis?!
