We took the boys fishing at a lake not far from our house the night before last. We were all bragging, of course, who would catch the biggest fish. My mom was the winner however because my oldest son (9 yrs) cast his pole, lost his balance, and fell right off the dock into 6 feet of water! He can swim just fine but man, did it surprise him, and he was just dog paddling around! My mom pulled him out, grabbed his pole...but we still ended up losing his boot in the lake. So we told my mom that she won the prize for the biggest fish that night - no one ever dreamed anyone would be pulling a 75 pounder out of the lake! :)

Hee hee, Marly! The 75 pounder I was referring to was my son that fell in the water! :)

Amy-
That is a very funny fishing story! That's one of the things I like best about fishing- all of the "tales" that you have to tell when you come home! LOL
Thanks for sharing!

A whopper, indeed! When my mom pulled Colton out of the lake, he shook himself off and then said to her "Ok...let's tell everyone I had a really big bite and the fish pulled me in." :)

LOL! That is funny! Too bad the boot didn't come up with the next cast like in old cartoons!
