I'm trying to raise some funds for the homestead, so I'm trying to sell some things (or barter, if you've got soap making supplies, beeswax, essential oils, homesteading books, etc.). I've never sold anything handmade, though, so I don't know how much to charge. Make me an offer!

I don't think the fabric I used to make these was vintage (it was given to me), since that looks like the "new" Strawberry Shortcake, but the characters and the style are. I have pictures of myself as a kid in dresses like these. These didn't fit my sisters' girls, so I'm hoping someone else has a kiddo the right size. Email me for measurements if you're interested. :)

I'm extremely interested, would they fit a 2T? I have a little one growing into that size and that style is great for where we live.

I've got fabric in spades of all kinds and any project (500 bolts+) if you'd like more fabric... I've also got quilting books and patterns, notions, project books for just about anything. I could probably scare up some good vintage cookbooks too. I'm about a week away from doing a full house purge of mine and my mom's things so let me know if there are any types of items you like --- I'm new to soap making myself so no help there, and there's no "fat to trim" from the homesteading library just yet. I can direct you to an amazing free e-book though! Do you have John Seymour's "Self Sufficient Life" yet?

OH! and I've got a handful of the types of specialized DIY books like they sell in home depot (laying tile... building ponds and swimming pools, that kind of thing.) Don't know for certain what's there yet cuz I haven't sorted it yet, but I do have some of those.

Just a question why would you have 500+ bolts of fabric and how do you store it?

My mother had a quilt shop about 15 years ago and closed it when Walmart put her out of business in our rural town. It takes up an entire wall of one of the bedrooms in the house and has been moved through 3 states! She hasn't been willing to clear the premium stuff out for $1 a yard like she has been offered by other shops over the years and for that I am grateful.

How many girls can brag on an inheritance of retired vintage cotton??? :D

Hi, Jen! I'm so sorry about the late response - my internet access at home this long weekend was nil and I'm just now catching up on my emails here at work. Thanks for being interested in my sundresses! I'm not sure if these are a 2T (maybe a little smaller), but I can send you measurements tonight if that helps. I don't know if you sew (sounds like you're well stocked if you do!) but I can tell you how to make them if the ones I have won't fit. They're very simple and sew up relatively quickly. :)

Wow Jen, my Mom had a whole room of fabric when she died, nothing like that but still some, I have to get up to her old house and pick some up....we gave alot away because at the time I wasn't sewing but now that I'm back I need it....I hope it is still in good shape. We are finally putting the house on the market, my older brother lived there till he past in 2010, Mom died in 06....what I wouldn't give to have a whole room of fabrics to chose from...enjoy your stash...and Kristen, the dresses or so cute. I'm going to make some like that for a friend that has a little girl, she is 5 months old now so they will be great for the summer.

No problem Kristen!
I've seen/made pillow case dresses before, I just like that material.

You said you needed homesteading books? Here is that e-book I was talking about! Enjoy it!

Jen, I'll see if I have any more material - you're welcome to it if there's enough to make a 2T dress out of it. Thank you for linking me to that e-book. I'll check it out! :)

Kristen..so sorry your mom was put out of business by greed and lack of caring about what made us America..and that has happened to so many mom n pop lil main street businesses...it saddens my heart deeply, to drive down our main streets USA and see so many vacant stores because of big chain stores....(now fabric is so high!)! you are blessed to have your mamas' "yard goods"... and the lil dresses are sweet..some lil miss will be tickled pink!! Blessings..Shirl

Shirl - My mom wasn't the one that was put out of business (that was Jen) but I agree with your sadness at the corporate takeover. And thank you for the compliment on the dresses! :)
