I finished making the girls a keychain to put on their school backpacks, tote bags, or use for library cards. I took a photo of the farmgirl logo ironed on a bandanna (hanging on my clothesline). I went to Wal-mart and had wallet size photos printed. I found photo keychains at our local Hobby Lobby and cut them to fit.

Not sure if I can sell something with MJF logo on it. I could check. I think MaryJane is also looking into creating one to sell from the farm.

Here's the recipe for the jam:
(and thank you all for your kind comments!)

Recipe: Honey Strawberry Jam
If this is your first time making jam, be sure to review our Canning Basics before you get started.
Recipe adapted from the Green Market Baking Book .
ingredients:
• 6 cups chopped strawberries
• two boxes powdered pectin
• 1 ½ cups honey
• 2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
method:
1. Wash and sterilize six 250ml jam jars. Boil the flat parts of the lids in a small pot and keep at a low simmer.
2. Mash the berries with a potato masher and place in a large heavy bottomed saucepan.
3. Add the pectin stir with a wooden spoon, and place on a burner over high heat and bring to a rolling boil. Stir and boil for 1 min.
4. Remove from heat and add the honey and lemon juice and mix well. Return to heat and bring to a boil again, stirring occasionally. Boil for 5 min, stirring constantly.
5. Remove jam from heat and let sit for a couple of minutes, stirring occasionally. It will thicken slightly. Ladle jam into hot jars, then place a flat lid on jars, and add screw rings.
6. Immerse jars in hot water bath, and boil rapidly for 8 min. Remove from bath and place on a towel on the counter to cool.

(From: http://www.simplebites.net/sugar-free-honey-strawberry-jam/ )

I processed my jars for 10 minutes and used organic lemon juice. Yum!

Do you have a Hobby Lobby near you? If not, Meijer stores also sell photo keychains (or any photo center or store). The ones at Hobby Lobby are bigger and fit the photo a bit better (you still have to cut the photos to fit). I just saved my photo on my flash drive, took it into Wal-mart and had wallets printed while I was there. Most stores have a machine where you plug in your drive, it uploads the photos, and you and pick and choose what you want printed. The receipt prints out and tells you how many minutes they will be done. When the time is up, you use your scan mark on your receipt to open another machine where you get your photos. Wallets are $.68 for two (two print on one sheet). I used 2 photos for each keychain. I'd be glad to share my photo with anyone who wants a copy for themselves to print. Just e-mail me.

I'm thinking of setting up our glamping tent, and taking a photo of that for the backside, or maybe switch it up with other farmgirl photos such as an apron. I have lots of ideas swimming in my head for these.

You know, Kristina, I was posting on another site about how much I have learned (and I am no spring chicken) since I joined the farm and I have concluded that there is nothing that a Farmgirl can't do!!! I am so proud to be here!

The wild black raspberries are ripe here now. I am going to use the same recipe and try it with those berries also. Yum!
