Hi Ladies,
Could anyone tell me anything about the John C Campbell Folk School in Brasstown NC?
Has anyone taken classes there?
Thanks Judy

My parents and one of my brothers have all taken classes there...my brother is a blacksmith and he's been there about 10 times. My mom will be teaching a soap making class there next year (Pam Custer...her name's in the catalog and she's a little excited about it!) They all love it...my mom and brother are both very social people and love meeting all the folks there. My dad is very anti-social...and somehow he ended up loving it as well! They say everyone wears name tags with where they're from and what class they're taking, so it's easy to strike up a conversation with new folks just with that info. My mom called me the first time Dad went and said "You'll never believe what your dad did at lunch! We were all sitting at a big table together and he just started talking to everyone!"

They've tried to get me to go, but with the exception of cooking classes, I really haven't seen anything I'd want to take. We usually double up, so if my brother found a class he wanted to take, mom or dad would find something they were interested in the same week and go together. That just never worked out for me, and to be honest, I'm a little intimidated by the social aspect of it all!

Although, instead of JCC, I spent a week at fiddle camp by myself last year, where I didn't know anyone at all...go figure.

So, if you asked them, they would definitely say go! They all love going whenever they can.
