So interesting. Your Video clips are so great. And your gardens are wonderful! I always am introduced to so many interesting things in Farmgirls. I most likely won't make the beverages you suggest however it did lead me to find making homemade sauerkraut something I will invest in the equipment and time to do. It is just a whole new world learning about fermentation. I did go online and bought the book Wild Fermentation you suggested. It looks amazing! Thank you for sharing your talent and interests. Annie

Hi Annie!
Thanks for your post :). I love getting feedback, and find it exciting if I can "inspire" someone to try something new. Sauerkraut is Yummy, and so easy to make :). Let me know how it goes for you, and happy fermenting!
Greetings, Heike

I am giving my ferments a "summer break" because the fruit flies are getting too interested in my kombucha mushroom and both the milk and water kefir grains. Rather than risk contamination they are sleeping in the fridge. I love making "ginger bugs". Super easy and SO yummy! Great clips!

Also the best way I have found to open the bottles so you don't have a sticky mess all over the kitchen is to open while you are holding it inside the dishwasher! If it blows (as my last one did) the mess is contained and no cleaning!

Great idea! I don't have a dishwasher (buh :(..), so I have to do it in the sink and hope it does not hit the ceiling :).
I don't seem to have a problem with the flies right now, thankfully!
