Just a warning to protect your garden harvest from on-lookers! Scary stuff. We need our garden to feed our family. Luckily for us, people would have to go through 3 dogs to get to ours.

Good read, but I would say that having MY FOOD taken is little bit more than an inconvenience.

Yup. If people tried that around here, it wouldn't end well for them.

I feel very fortunate that I live in a rural area. I know that I am here because I made it my life priority. Sorry that all can't live the country life. I hate locked doors, locked gates and closed windows. (well, except now that AC is going full blast) I fully intend to exercise my Second Ammendment Right if needed. That goes for deer, coons, cyotes or people. On the other hand, if I see or hear of a hungry family, I'll be the first one there. Be more than glad to share my supper.

I'm sorry that happened to you. Our garden is mainly for me and my Sweetie (husband). But, my neighbors know they are welcomed to have what they need that day. If they do pick any veggies, usually they leave a note of thanks.

Oh it didn't happen to me. I'm in an open-carry state- things like this rarely happen here. It's just a word of warning to those farmgirls in the cities.

you don't have to live in a city to loose crops and livestock to thieves, its happening all over, including rural/farm/ranch areas...people are finding butchered out cattle, sheep, goats and horses, etc, along with gardens and orchards picked, sometimes cleaned out. People are without jobs and are hungry, does not make it right, but thats whats happening...come to my door, and I'll give you what I can...steal from me, and between my dogs and my gun, well you get the idea...

Dont they realize that all they need to do is ask? Most people would gladly share, so there's no need to steal it! Its so not worth it!
