My latest creative quest has been crazy quilts. I hand sew/embroidery the pieces onto a larger piece of fabric. I finished two baby quilts for gifts and the moms were thrilled. Dh asked me to work on one for the family room... so that's what I am doing now. Using up bits of lace, ribbon, fabric orphan quilt squares, pieces of recycled clothes.
For short skeins of yarn... I use 4-5 strings at the time of different colors and make rugs. It doesn't matter what the color or when it runs out because I just tie a new string on and keep going. I have those all over the house.
Do what you love, love what you do. |

AllFreeCrafts.com has lots of scrap projects, as well as their sister sites AllFreeCrochet, AllFreeKnitting, and AllFreeSewing. FaveCrafts is another good site.

"Stashbuster Knits" by Melissa Leapman- has a lot of cool patterns and shows how to make a ball of "magic yarn" by using leftover pieces of yarn in varying lengths so you can use it on a project. I am a crazy quilter too-using the sewing machine and muslin for the backing. Lots of fun things you can make doing that. Uses up the scraps and doing crafts by making fabric yo yos also help use up the smaller bits. And vintage buttons.
