hi girls,
I recently upgraded my cell phone to a samsung galaxy epic touch. so far great phone. downside is that it forces you to sync with your google account (which was never an account i used much to begin with).....which in turns pulls all pictures from your blogspot blogs, picassa, etc into your phone.
annoying.
SO, i proceeded to erase hundreds of pics off my phone because i didnt need them on there or to take up the space. it pulled all the pics off my 'modern day laura blog', etc. (just didnt know it at the time)
thought nothing of it.
until today....i went to my modern day laura' blog, and MOST of my pics are gone!
I'm irate. this phone should have had a warning about deleting pics synced from google accounts. in further researching, i found other people with the same issue.
so, if you get an android phone, which IS a great phone, be careful when you first get it. 'syncing' everything will pull whatever you have off the internet associated with your google accounts and into your phone. and if you delete those pics from your phone, those pics from picassa, and blogspot blogs (and whatever else from google) will be deleted too.
thankfully i have most of my pics on my computer so i can re-add them. just too annoyed to do it today. so if you stop by my blogs and pics are missing, thats why. hope to get to it restored by the weekend.

That seems so ridiculous to me. Sometimes I hate technology. Sorry you have to go through all the extra work!

That is good to know. Also seems like a danger if a bad guy has the software to sync with YOU and your GPS wherabouts. I heard that someone can just sneak a picture of you, put it in their software and track you from your FB or other account. Frank Abignale said this. He is the "Catch Me if you Can" real life man. Intriguing speaker but had a lot of warnings.

Wow...thanks for the heads up. Sorry you lost all your pictures and have to re-upload them, that's a bummer! I just bought a new phone and have been debating on whether or not to link up my Facebook, etc. I've already run into the google account issue when setting up my email to go to my phone. I will definitely ease into this new technology slowly and carefully!
Cheers! ~ Marilyn

Oh how frustrating. Don't have an Android, but good warning, especially with the google accounts, too.
Thank goodness you have copies.

Another warning make certain your Bluetooth and wifi is turned off if you are not using it. If it is on, anyone can steal your info off your phone and you won't even know it. It also uses alot of battery.
