I am getting ready to mix up some of the last salves of the season and would like to take orders to make sure I get enough made for all those who were interested.

I make a very basic healing salve with infused oils from my own comfrey, plantain and chickweed. I use raw beeswax as a thickener and also add a bit of Vit. E when I blend it all together.

We use this salve on everything; cuts and scrapes, mysterious skin itchies, and mild rashes.

It is highly concentrated. I don't cut my salves with other oils to make it go farther. When you get this it will be dark green and look like whipped peas. It won't turn your skin green, but it may stain clothing if you slather it on. Although, there is no need for you to do that. This isn't thick like petro carbo, it warms to touch and almost goes onto your fingers like a cream. I made this salve soft with my little ones in mind. The last thing they want is a tacky salve drawn across an open wound.

I can also custom make a plain no-blend salve of just chickweed, plain plantain, or simple comfrey, if anyone is interested.

Salves are packaged in a 2 oz. tin for $4.50. I like this size because it's small enough you can still put it in a back pack or first aid kit, and large enough it will last a long time.

I'm also working on a warming salve for winter. Once the weather turns my feet are ice cold. I'm hoping I can concoct something strong enough to really warm them up!

Babs - I would love to have several of the 2oz. tins of the healing salve - one for myself and two for christmas stocking presents. I'd also be interested in the warming salve. Just let me know what to do. Thanks!

I am so happy to see this post. I am interested in ordering. I have two outdoor-sy boys and I am trying to figure how much I would need to order. Does it have a shelf life? Is it something you will have available all the time or just when you take orders? Let me know what you think? Thank you.

Farmgirl Blessings,
Theresa

Hi girls,
I'm currently in michigan at a convention. I'm having a great time.
I'll get back with everyone on all the topics when I touch home base again unless something really critical comes up.

Farmgirl hugs to all,

Babs
