If you have any 4h project books which you are no longer using/wanting -- we'd love to have them! WE have just started a 4H group ( the only one in our county) and will be needing lots of resources :)

What kind of projects/books are you looking for? There are a lot of different 4-H groups.

we're actually a group with many interests/projects, so we're pretty much looking for anything at this point :) figuring that over the years we'll be covering a lot of different project areas

I asked because around here there are separate groups that do cooking, sewing, different animals, knitting, crocheting, agriculture etc. All these require different books ans supplies.

Yes, I realize that, but as the only group in our county we are not a group limited to only one project or the other. For instance, we are beginning with a wildlife/fisheries project, then going to yeast bread baking, then to aviation, and then who knows beyond February. I understand that some groups are geared just toward one topic area, but that is not how our group is going to be run.

Hello again this helps a lot. What type of project are you doing for the wildlife/fisheries and what is the ages roughly? My son is back at college getting his master degree in fisheries so I could ask him for info. for you. He has work all our out west, Utah, Wyoming, middle of Idaho, northern Idaho and Michigan. If I can help please let me know and it is wonderful to work with 4-H kids.

Doesn't the county extension office give you whatever books you need?

Laura, our county doesn't even have its own extension office, but we are under the umbrella of another county. They have one set of some of the curricula (not all) and it is shared among all the clubs in that county. I'd like our club to have some materials of its own so that the members can use them when they would like to.

I will look and see if I have some down at our cabin. If so they would be about 15 yrs old. And NM but probably wont matter. I wonder if you could download some stuff too? Everything takes me a while cause Im so swamped all the time and I have so much stuff from homeschooling my four kids and then inheriting all my parents stuff. But I will look.

Hey there! I was one of our local 4H leaders for a few years. Our club and other clubs in the area were general groups that actually took part in all of the projects. I have project books for swine, rabbit, goat and I think for clothing, too. I'll gather them up and then give you specifics.

The books aren't too expensive if you decide to purchase some. I think they run around $4 each.

I'll also look up my links to various project sheets available online.

I LOVE 4H!!!!! Both of my daughters participated. In fact, one is currently working on her Vet Tech certificate through 4H. It's incredible.....the very same certificate/degree issued by the local 2 year college....she's getting it for free! (well, a lot of hard work)

One of the best compliments from one of my daughters: "Moma, you smell good...like dirt."
