Hi Ladies!!
Hopefully this question hasn't already been asked somewhere down the line... but I was wondering, have any of you ever tried canning cabbage in chicken stock/broth? I've canned cabbage in the past in water, and it was NOT good. However, I cooked cabbage fresh the other night in a little chicken broth and it was SO yummy. I was wondering if I could can it this way. Anyone know?
Thanks in advance!!

When I can plain cabbage, I rinse it when I open it. It helps alot. When I can soups and such with cabbage in them, I don't put a lot in the recipe. It can be kind of strong at times and I would expect it to still be strong in broth as well.
Do what you love, love what you do. |

Thanks emsmommy5 :) Yeah, it would probably have a strong flavor, even canned in broth. I wish I could find a way to can it that tastes as good as it does when cooked in a little broth, a splash of white wine, salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of sugar. YUMMM. I never liked cabbage 'til I had it like that! Thanks for your thoughts :)
