I lost my dear aunt this week and I just want people to know her and the joy that she put into so many lives. She introduced me to Mary Jane and her Farmgirls and first gave me MJ's book as a gift a number of years ago. My aunt was a true Farmgirl and was such a blessing. I wrote a tribute to her at my blog. She was my mentor and such a joy. I hope that you enjoy 'meeting' her.

What a blessing to have had such a wonderful mentor and inspiration, Mary Beth! From reading your beautiful tribute, I just love her - and didn't even have the privilege to know her! But I do know you as a Farmgirl sister, and there is no doubt in my mind that you were a tremendous blessing to her as well, because you are so much so to all of us. I am so, so sorry for your loss. When someone as wonderful as your aunt leaves you, it really hurts - there's like this hole that nobody can fill; yet at the same time, they still live in our hearts - we hear their voice, we recall their wisdom, we remember their laughter and we still feel their love. She will truly always be with you, Mary Beth. And rest assured, you will see her again! God love and bless you, and may the memories and her love in your heart comfort you. Big hugs and lots of love - Nini

Oh my!!!!!!! Mary Beth, I am beyond tears right now. What a wonderful tribute to your Aunt Lois! I am so sorry for your loss. After reading all of your words, I come away with one word, INSPIRATION. I find myself wishing that I could have had an Aunt like Aunt Lois. How blessed you both were. There was one sentence that caught my eye, "There is no greater gift than written memories passed on from generation to generation." You truly have given your Aunt Lois just that! I will keep that quote, with your name attached to the end, to use as often as I possibly can. My sympathy to your Uncle Ed. I will say a prayer for all of you. Thank you for sharing and celebrating such a beautiful life with us. Hugs. Marly

Oh, Mary Beth, I'm so sorry for your loss, but love that you call this a celebration of her life. Indeed, it is. Please accept my condolences--I, too, lost a favorite aunt around Christmas time and I think of her each and every day. We shared so many loves--archtecture, reading, music and the arts. I am grateful for her inspiration and I know you are, too.

Oh Mary Beth, I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm always so clumsy at saying the right things, but after reading your tribute, I feel that I can hear her "voice" and her photos exude such vibrancy and spirit. She looks like such a gracious but forward and gregarious person. I can see her laughter and the twinkle in her eye, her kindness and breadth of compassion and love for you. When we lose some one like that from our lives it feels like the world goes dimmer, like a candle has been blown out, a bit of light is gone and there is no replacing it. She loved you so and you had such a wonderful friend and mentor, my heart aches for you, farmsister, but know that she'll be waiting for you and there with open arms. Carry her spark and laughter, wisdom and faith and they will light the way when you need them to. I had a great aunt that I loved the same way and years later I can still here her voice, her unique chuckle, her soft Texas accent and remember the many adventures and mischiefs that we enjoyed together. These ladies are what farmgirls are all about Graciousness, spirit and steel. We love them, they have made us in part who we are and we always carry their spirits in our hearts
Hugs
