For those of us that don't care about the game, there is the pure entertainment of the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet, plays pretty much all day long!!

Beyonce??? Why all the hype?? She is horrible. Of all the talent out there, this is what we get. ICK. Wonder who was behind booking this act? Nini, I promise, once your boys watch the Puppy Bowl, they will be hooked. My hub is a big ole sports fan, but he was tuned into the Puppy Bowl for 2 solid hours, & during the Super Bowl (?) he is organizing his desk.

We didn't watch the whole thing, but they did enjoy some of the Puppy Bowl... SO stinkin' cute!
As far as Beyonce... Well, I'll give it to her that she's very beautiful and very talented... Anything that oozes sex sells, though, and she sure allows her other "gifts" to be exploited instead of insisting that her vocal talent be showcased for itself and earn its due. I think her kind of beauty must be both a blessing and a curse in Hollywood. I really have to wonder if she didn't allow herself to be sexually exploited, would people in this day and age really hear, see and appreciate her? I just feel very sad for her and all the other performers who allow this. You can be beautiful, you can be talented, you can be a performer, and you can even be a star, but you don't have to allow yourself to be exploited like that in order to do what you love and have people appreciate your gifts - at least you shouldn't have to. The true greats never did or do. What ever happened to personal dignity and inner grace? Receiving all the accolades for one's vocal talents when in all actuality it's the wiggly and giggly body movements and serious lack of modesty (to put it nicely) that get the real attention and cheer seems like a very empty reward to me. It really doesn't equate with the honor, respect and admiration that her true talent could and should receive. All I could think when we did flip back to check on the halftime status was that the show looked an awful lot like a whole bunch of pole dancers parading around without their poles, and it made me really sad for her and the other women on the stage, because it certainly overshadowed any true talent they may have. (Never mind that I couldn't understand a word of the lyrics they were singing - everything else was so distracting.) I just don't think they realize their true worth, and the value of their true talents. Maybe they'll be laughing all the way to the bank, but in exchange for what price paid of their person, you know? I wish Hollywood would embrace true feminity, which encompasses all that is beautiful, sacred, graceful, loving and strong. The whole thing is just sad to me. I don't even know her, and I want so much more for her, I guess. I wish her the best, truly; but I just can't bring myself to watch or listen. It's extremely denegrating to me.

Nini, I agree 100 percent! I was saying the same thing last night. She has a beautiful voice but you sure couldn't tell. Is this what the pop culture has come down to? A bunch of Hoochie Mommas strutting their stuff in 5 inch heels and corsets? It was like a strip club act.

I didn't watch the puppy bowl this year, because I totally forgot! I did about...a million loads of laundry yesterday and was so excited about Downton Abbey that I just cleaned until that came on at 9. I also made chicken and dumplins for supper so that took some time and I just totally sketched. I SO wanted to see the Hedgehog refs!!!!!
