Hi everyone, it's Ally here from North Yorkshire. Just joined and can't wait to find my way around.
I grew up in the countryside but now have a little terraced house which is my own suburban homestead. Doing what I can with a wood-burner, veg patch, sewing machine, and a very frugal mindset. I love the 1940s so always try to Make Do and Mend like they did in the war.
I couldn't find any UK chapters on the chapter search but if there is one, please could somebody give me a shout?
It's 7.00am here and I have got to get the kids up for school soon but I just wanted to say hello. Looking forward to meeting you all and learning from your experiences.

I live in Riverside County in Southern California now but grew up in Anaheim with Disneyland. We moved there the year Disney started building.
I prefer my almost high desert city of Hemet where I live now. Temps are colder and hotter than Anaheim but I am getting used to it and my sister lives here so that makes it more enjoyable.

It sounds like you might have been a librarian, yes?
I worked at the Anaheim Public Library for 10 years as a secretary but I was in Heaven since I am a book lover and always attended the book sales and annual Authors' Luncheon.

I've been floating around the site for a couple of years now - but admit i rarely post a comment. I live near Milton Keynes so I guess the UK girls on here are about as spread out in the country its possible to be. A few more and we could have our own area of the forum and discuss the virtues of marmite and weetabix!!
