Would anyone be interested in swapping an assortment of fabric scraps? I make a lot of projects that require small pieces, and I'm getting tired of using the same fabrics. I would swap pieces as small as 4" squares up to 8" strips. I would try to pull out specific colors if you need, or just swap a "grab bag".

If you don't want scraps in return, I could also trade for some homemade items - bookmarks, credit card holders, small tote bags, pocket tissue holders, headbands. I also have books I need to get rid of - mostly current fiction (from last 5 years).

So how big are your scraps? Are they big enough to make a Dotee doll?
What are you looking for?
What are your books?
Let me know?

I have scraps from 1" strips to 8"x12" pieces or slightly larger. I'm not familiar with Dotee dolls, so don't know what you need for them. I am posting pictures of the books I have. Let me know if there's anything you can use.

the 8x12" sizes are the best size for me. I do have some scraps and squares to trade you if you want. I don't think I want a book for now.
I will email you.

Sisters - Thank you to everyone who sent me packages of scraps. They have all arrived and I love them! I'm taking them with me to my sister's for the weekend so we can make several projects. Thanks again for your generosity. Hope all your return packages arrived ok! Julie - yours hasn't been sent yet because I'm still working on a couple small items to tuck in.

Well now sisters I am hooked! My sister and family have spent a couple of weekends at our house and sis has been teaching me to do some small quiting projects and I have had the most fun!!! She brought along the most fun box of material scraps she bartered for - we made quilted hot pads, she started on a quilt for her son and so now I am thinking I'd like to have a box of scraps for myself!! I have some small kitchen supplies left over from my days as selling Pampered Chef and I have some Bath and Body lotions that are new - but not my favs. I don't have any sewing items to trade as I am just getting started.

Tami,
If you email me your mailing address I'd be happy to send you scraps that I have. I make and sell a LOT of aprons and am cutting now.
I don't want anything (including scraps) in return. I'd love to just pass on these scraps.

Thanks much!
CJ

Diana (Grammadinah), and other sisters. I just had to share this story. I recently made a prayer quilt for our son who was going through a tough time. I decided to make one for our daughter as well so asked her what colors she would like. She requested black and white prints. I looked through my stash and found only 2 black/white combos so told Hubby that I was going to run to town the next day to pick up some fabric. He said "Oh, a package came in the mail for you today. I think it's more fabric from your "farmgirl thing". When I opened the box, I was dumbstruck. Inside were SIXTEEN black and white prints. When I finished cutting the quilt blocks, there was only one print left with a scrap big enough to make a 6" square!

This prayer quilt started with an answered prayer. God provided the fabric before I even knew I needed it!

Thank you again, Diana, and all of you for sharing your bounty. God is good!

Forgot to add the picture. These are the fabrics Diana sent - plus the two from my own stash. Daughter's quilt is about half finished and it is adorable!

And I have to confess this is a redo of a redo I asked for black and white for a project from the Farm girls and was greatly pleased with the fabrics I have made 3 quilts and just couldn't think of another one to make and so I passed it on please enjoy.

To Diana and Loralie - how can I say thanks for the kindness to send material pieces. I just learned to do some basic quilting projects. I was so touched by the generosity of my MJ sisters!! Tonight I received yours Loralie and as I said in private email - I have played with them all evening! Thank you so much all - there were several who responded to my barter on MJF and sadly I lost my email and had to start over with my gmail account - so I don't have the connection to the other two ladies who replied to me - - - if it's you and you see this - please send me another email. One of you wanted to barter for some Avon products I have on hand - hand cream and lip glosses . . . I hope I can reconnect with you!!!

Thanks again - Teri

Bonnie - My apologies for being so slow. Work and life has gotten a little out of control lately. I received your package and loved it. Thank you so much for sharing. Your box is ready to go sitting in my car - just waiting for me to get to the post office. I promise it's on it's way and again, so so sorry for getting bogged down.

Thanks again for your generosity.

Connie - The fabric arrived today. I'm dancing a jig! :) Somehow you hit all my "favorite things" - Christmas, Peanuts, Americana - and best if all, the retro aqua/pink/red kitchen fabric. It will definitely become an apron or curtains or something for my kitchen.

Thank you for swapping. I'll enjoy them all.

Happy summer reading!

Tami! the retro fabric belonged to my great Aunt Mattie, it still had the Price ticket on it, where she paid 10 cents a yard for it at Woolworth. I washed and dried it and made my Granny, and Aunts aprons from it. My Granny and all her sisters sewed, I have quilts, that have scraps of material, from dresses I wore to Grammar school! Big Farm Sis Hug! Connie The pic is a box of her sewing things my granny gave to me when Aunt Mattie passed away, and I also have her old singer sewing machine! I Treasure them with all my heart!

Connie - How lovely that you inherited such treasures. I feel so honored to receive a piece of Aunt Mattie's stash. I plan to add a coordinating red to the fabric you sent and make valances for my kitchen windows. I love that it will be authentic rather than a reproduction. Thank you again for sharing your bounty.

Huge sister hugs!
