I read there were "Marches Against Monsanto" in over 400 cities. I live near St. Louis so of course there were protesters there. They (Monsanto) try to portray themselves as benevolent scientists out to "feed the world" but I'm not buying it. I'd rather grow my own food than have a corporation decide for me what, and ultimately, if, I eat.

This is so important! I was in Madison, WI marching against Monsanto and GMOs in general yesterday. It isn't just they want to own all the seeds and get royalties from cross pollination, but they own all the chemicals and chemical fertilizers that are needed to grow these genetically modified crops. These crops have been on the market heavily since the early 90's. Corn, Soy and Canola are the top three. They are in everything that is processed. They haven't been tested in this country, but other countries have tested and banned them. Watch "The World According to Monsanto" or "Genetic Roulette" to get the whole scope of this huge threat to our health, food, land and water. One of the biggest problems is that Genetically Modified Foods are not labeled so the consumer does not have a choice. There are websites and apps for smart phones that help you to not purchase these products. Grow your own, shop your local farmers and farmer's markets and buy organic as much as possible.

I am trying to be the person my dogs think I am.

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.
