I've been making our own granola for a while and in a cookie cookbook that we had when I was a kid, there is a recipe for peanut butter bars that is a no back. Well.... today I combined them. I'd been trying to find a decent snack bar with minimum ingredients that I could take on the road. Now I am waiting for them to cool. the trick will be how well they handle any heat since I did drizzle chocolate on top.

Unfortunately, I only had a little of the natural peanut butter, read nothing added and ended up using some peanut butter my mom left that has oil. They came out softer than I would have liked, but I think the potential is there, so I am eating these up just so I can make another batch.

Laurie - once you "perfect" it, please share your recipe. I make my own granola, too, and have always wanted to make it into bars, but had no idea how. Yours sounds like such a great idea! Hugs - Nini
