My sweetheart and I kinda love craigslist and saw an ad yesterday for someone giving away free cactus apples ( the yummy tropical tasting fruit of prickly pear cactus) so I called. It was about 20 min away but we had other places to go in that direction so we got two 5 gallon buckets, and two big boxes and our grabbers and took off. Oh my gosh- it was the best patch ever! We filled both the boxes and both buckets and I will be having a canning day tommorrow! Jelly jam and juice for sure and quartered and canned in juice as well. I can experiment like crazy! So excited!

Inside me there is a skinny girl crying to get out, but I can usually shut her up with cookies.

That looks wonderful, but what do these gems taste like?? OH born and raised, no cactus apples here.
Free food! That, my friend is a no brainer!!
