Talking about all things to do with WWI and WWII knitting and sock machines, here is a picture of my circular sock machine (cast iron) that I refurbished last year. Hope to make a pair of socks on it as soon as I learn how to use the darn thing. LOL

Nancy, thanks for sharing that photo of the sock machine. It looks incredible and I would love to see you making it work! I am currently knitting sock #2 to my first pair of the regulation sock pattern. I am sure this sock machine made it very much easier and more efficient to make socks in large numbers. Please give us an update if you have the time and get some socks made. Does it adjust for yarn width so you can make thick and thin socks?
