We are looking to buy a new range & would like a double oven unit. But it is very confusing as to which is the best. Any information you have on brand , type, etc. would be greatly appreciated. TIA
We recently had to replace our 45 year old double ovens and drop-in stove top. We went with Kitchenaid because it was the only brand of oven that would fit in the existing cabinets without major remodeling. The new oven unit is all digitally controlled. It has both regular and convection baking. It also has a meat thermometer that turns the oven off when the target temperature is met which is a nice feature. Another bonus is the bread proofing setting. My only complaint is that it takes forever for the ovens to pre-heat. We are still getting used to baking with the ovens but so far have been happy with them.
The glass cooktop is great and heats things up very quickly. It has two burners with double elements so you can use one or both depending on the size of your pot. I don't recommend the black colored surface however, it shows dust and scratches very easily. If we had it to do over again we would have chosen the one with the spattered white/gray surface. Otherwise we like it.
