After three clutches of laying (over 2 years), our broody hen finally hatched a chick!!!! It has been adorable to watch mama and baby. Mama is protective and caring. I still worry though. They are in a pen with 22 other chickens. Mama doesn't want anything or one near her and baby. I thought about moving them, but not sure where or if they need to be??? I haven't had a hen hatch eggs in 15 yrs!

We have to separate ours, the other hens and roo will kill the babies, or my husband's little dog or worst of all is finding a huge chicken snake with his belly full of my babies.I just pinned two bloody mommies this weekend. I hope they are successful. There is nothing cuter.

They are both beautiful! I love the picture of them. I hope all is still well and that they will be safe in their own area.
