Who besides me loves the seasonal Pumpkin Spice Coffee?? Our local Fresh Market offers it every year and I just love it! I have tried Dunkin Donuts and Target brands but the Fresh Market one tastes the best to me. So, today , I wandered inside the store to find this.......

Which led to getting some and coming home to make this.......

It might be ranging hot and humid here in Florida, but one thing I know for sure : when Pumpkin Spice coffee arrives, Summer is on it's way out!~ Or at least it is at my desk with coffee in hand!!

Winnie, I make my own coffee flavors with spices. After I put the coffee in the filter, I just add the spices I like and make my own version. So I think you could add a teaspoon of pumpkin spice and make your own blend. This way you could have it year round. One blend I make is with cinnamon, nutmeg, and a dash of cloves. I agree with you, when I see the autumn blends on the shelves, autumn is here and the weather should be cooling down. I don't know how the weather is the northern section of Florida, but it is hot and humid here. Just having a fall blend of coffee in the morning, puts one in the mood of the brisk autumn days. Have a wonderful weekend. Becky

Rebecca, I have tried using spices to the coffee grounds and I just can't see to get the same effect. When I handcraft flavored coffees, I use regular grinds is specific proportions to get the effect I want. But, I cannot seem to make pumpkin spice coffee as good as The Fresh Market does. I really enjoy the taste they came up with. On a weather note, it is as hot and humid up here as I bet you are experiencing. I am plum tired of it all!! Plus the mosquitoes are just plain vicious this year! Unfortunately, we have a while to go before cooler and drier weather is a reality. All the more reason to enjoy Pumpkin spice coffee, I say!! LOL!!

Winnie you are so right. I always look forward for the autumn and Christmas flavorings at the stores. Yes we need to enjoy the Pumpkin spice coffee and others just to combat the weather and mosquitoes. Enjoy. Becky

OH MY GOSH YUM! I cannot WAIT for pumpkin iced coffee!
Winnie - when we were at Plimoth Plantation last fall, I took a chance and bought their cranberry creme coffee. Oh my WORD, it is my second favorite - only to pumpkin spice! You MUST try it! You simply must!!!
Weather here has pretty much fooled nature into thinking it's already autumn. Leaves are already falling, gardens are dying... Nights are super cool, days are absolutely beautiful... I've been lighting my Macintosh candles at the end of the day... We've even had apple pie already! I am SO ready for fall! Alas, this morning on the news the weatherman is calling for 90 degree weather this weekend. It will still be autumn in my heart, though. I can't wait to go apple picking!!!
Have a great day girls!

Nini, I am so jealous that you are having fall like weather already!! Please enjoy a cup of tea or coffee on the porch for me some evening. It sounds just heavenly to have cooler days. We are in the thick of hot, humid late Summer and it will be another month before it might just dry out while still being quite hot.
It has always been dream of mine to visit Plimoth Plantation in the Fall, and someday I hope to make it there. The Cranberry creme coffee sounds awesome!! I bet it was delicious. I have never seen it offered down here so it might be a regional thing up there since they grow cranberries. I will keep my eyes open this year towards November when the holiday flavors appear in stores. I bet it would be off the charts with a slice of your apple pie!!
I know lots of Farmgirls who are living in the more northern states are all seeing the signs of impending Fall. What a delight and it does make one excited about the arrival of this beautiful season of color and harvest!! I posted this last year from a cute children's book I found in an antique store. It will help get you ready for apple picking'!!

Oh my goodness, Winnie! I thought Johnny Appleseed made his way everywhere! <Responding to your Apple Season post, here, sorry! LOL!> I had no idea that you didn't grow them in Florida! Bummer!!! I love that little page you've shared - I think I did see it before, but I really do enjoy it so much! What a treasure!!!
Tell you what, I have an brand new extra bag of the cranberry coffee - please just shoot me an email, and it'll be my early fall gift to you so we can celebrate a little together!!!
And BTW - we had the best time at Plimoth. I grew up near there, so it was familiar to me, but my son had never been there before. It was awesome. One of the native American re-enactors was a gold mine of information of my family's history. I learned so much, he had me in tears. He was able to clarify some stories that had been handed down over the past couple of generations, and really brought our history to life. He also gave me quite a few leads as to how to track down my native American ancestry (even my natural great grandmother!), and offered that he was easy to find online if I wanted help. He was, truly, awesome. There was so much I didn't know, and he shared so much, I'm sure I wasn't able to write it ALL down. Someday, I want to go back up and do some research. The other thing I love about Plimoth is that my family history really does run all the way back to the Massachusetts Bay Colony. It was so cool to watch my son's eyes and heart open - live and in person, not just in text and storybooks - to what it must've been like for his ancestors. There is so much up there for us to explore, and yet there was (and always has been) so little time. He always has wanted to trace our family lineage by traveling to the homes and lands of our forefathers. I sincerely hope and pray that the trip we took will be the spark that lit his fire to live out that dream! (And, secretly, I wish I could go with him when he does it... but that probably wouldn't be cool having your Mom dragging around with you! LOL! I'll be happy with a good report and plenty of pictures!).
Sometimes I think it would be so cool if we farmgirls could all meet together for a big tour at all the cool historical sites in our states... Wouldn't that be awesome to share that experience? Someday, maybe... someday!
Have a great weekend!

Ohh, Nini, I am sending you an email right now!! I love how your family history runs back to the Massachusetts Bay Colony too!! Hopefully, one day soon, you will have the time to do the family research and get it all down in writing for a keepsake. It sounds fascinating!
Yes, I often think how fun it would be if we Farmgirls could see one another. Sometimes life offers an opportunity to meet up with a few and it is always a fun and happy occasion!!
Yep. too hot down here for apples! I believe, Johnny Appleseed was only located in the New England area and along the upper midwest as far as northern Ohio region.

Winnie, I am impatiently waiting for pumpkin spice lattes.... I had an iced one 2 years ago on a hot day, it just was not the same, but it was very heavily spiced which might have been part of the problem.
