I was just overcome with sadness when I got this news today. I knew Portia from various swaps along the way and I had such respect for her. My heart goes out to her husband. She will certainly be missed in our sisterhood.

Arrangements have been made. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 16 at 3PM at the CrossPoint Community Church 1 Grand Blvd. Binghamton, NY. Rev. Marsh Sorber will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday at 2pm until the time of the service at the church. Flowers are appreciated or donations in her memory may be made to The Portia Troupe Memorial Fund at CrossPoint Community Church, 1 Grand Blvd. Binghamton, NY 13905

Kristi, the flowers are beautiful. This is heartbreaking news. My heart hurts for the family and I pray they have strength and comfort in the coming days. I didn't know her as long as most of you have. I had only started knowing her through a postcard swap.

I'm so sad about this, Portia was so sweet. I only knew her through swap, but she always brought such joy with her sweet gifts and encouraging words. So sad for her family.

Prayers for the family of Portia. So sad to learn of the accident. She will be missed by the farmgirl family. Happy to know she was a Christian woman and has heaven as a assured place.

I have been away for awhile. My heart breaks for Portia's dear family. We have lost a dear friend and sister. My she sing with the Angels and be in the arms of our Lord!!

I wanted you all to know that I saw a Portia's daughter, Allie, today at our Bing-hen-ton city chicks farm girl meeting. She said the family is doing well, they have their times that are hard. I think it means a lot to them to know that they have a network of people that continue to pray for them. The Lord is very important to them.
