Well I leave at the crack of dawn on Thursday for 4 days of glamping at the Hearst Ranch in San Simeon, CA.
It is a 8000 ac cattle ranch...
I have my trailer all cleaned up and ready as well as wrapped up (currently it has been raining for a few days)...
soon as the rain passes,, the cover will come off... but at least she is loaded and ready to roll (except for food)..
New shoes....
ready to go..
solar porch light charged up..
my GPS system!!!

A lot of Texas history around Waco. Can't help but think about Marty Robbins singing "Cross the River at Waco" every time I hear Waco mentioned. The river is the Brazos. Tell your friend welcome to Texas for me.

well,,, sure glad I kept my Scotty covered,,, we got hammered with rains and then a power outage.. but,,, sunshine and decent weather is in our forecast... so I am still going to 'Wagon's HO'...

I am back and had a BLAST!!!!
3 1/2 hr drive,,, up to the Coast,,, onto the ranch and then let the fun begin!
Because it is part of the Hearst family's private residence I am limited as to what I can post (for their privacy)... but they were absolutely fabulous the way they treated and accommodated us... I also truly appreciate how the Hearst family and legacy is determind to protect the land and coastal line in San Simeon.

driving up to the Dairy Barn...
this was our play room for the event...
the Bigs and the Littles... 14trailers and 17 gal~pals...
Wm. R. Hearst had a lovely "Senator's " House built on the property for the Senator to come stay for a get-away...
and the garden out back... oh sigh,,,,
oh how fast 4 days can come to an end... but we had great fun and great memories,,, and like they say,, "what happens at the Ranch/camp site... stays at the Ranch/camp site".... heeheehee....

Oh Winnie,,, we had a wonderful time and we were serenaded by Louie Ortega,,, a really fabulous guitarist...
Had catered dinners and the Ranch cook made us the best 'Brown Bag' lunches to take with us out to the Point... We enjoyed our lunch as we sat and watched the ocean life around us...
We also took a tour of the Hearst Castle....
All and all, a great last camping trip of the season.

and from our camping site we could see the "Castle" on the hill...
I forgot to mention about the abundance of deer and cattle roaming around our site... and I so enjoyed the swarm of butterflies around the Lantana and the Humming birds dancing around the cactus blossoms...

Grace, your pictures are so nice. It looks like you had a great trip. It's sad how fast time flies when your having fun. Wish your trip could have been longer! And I find that taxidermy funny too!

| What are the most fun activities on your glampour trips. I want to try to get some gals with vintage vehicles and trailers to do some one hour trips next summer. We have 4 lakes within an hour each way. It would be fun to visit every one of them. Once we get there I just don't want to sit. I want activity. Some like to sit and drink, not my cup of tea. |

Oh Kem,, some of the gals in my group are into photography,,, some (myself included) have brought our feather weight sewing machine and worked on projects, some ride their bikes and visit with the gals.
Some time we do a upscaled afternoon pot luck lunch, sometimes dinner and quite often we do either a progressive appetizers or meet up in one location for appetizers.
Depending on where we are,, junktiquing is on the list and depending... we either go rafting or hang out at the lake and float around in our inner tubes or rafts...
There even is a group of the gals here who are into Ukeleing...
Some times we have a theme,,, like Hawaiian Cowgirl,, so we get silly and dress in a mix of Hawaiian and cowgirl outfits,,, we've dome 'Trailer Trash Bowling',, were the gals dress up uber silly,, some of us were lucky to find vintage Bowling shirts to wear...
One year one of the gals who is a Belly/Tribal dancer taught us to wiggle and jiggle our hips,, so as you can see,,, it's what ever you want to do, the skies the limit.
So all I can say is,,, Go For IT!
oh and yes, we've even had a "High Tea" at our camping venue.

we luv our petticoats...(L to R... Paulette, Juli and me and Paulette was our Belly dance instructor).
afternoon tea,,,
Trailer Trash Bowling.. (we used an old bowling ball and made the 'pins' out of re-purposed coffee creamer jugs-filled with sand).
