How fun is that! I bet Rose is loving her Christmas decorations. I have always wanted to put Christmas lights up on our cow shed. My husband laughs at me but I will do it sometime in the future lol!

Luckily Rose ignores them. If she liked the decorations she'd probably pull them off and shred them.

Last night I served prime rib, and today as a nod towards when we lived in San Antonio, I steamed tamales. We saw them in Kroger and the boss had to have them. I made Mexican rice, refried beans and corn, tomatoes and okra from a can. Now we're stuffed!

Beautiful meal Vanessa! We are doing the traditional turkey---our pug awaits getting her fair share. A beautiful sunny cold white Christmas here. Santa was very good to us. We are quite content. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas Barbara! Our dogs are getting cabin fever because it's so cold I can't take them for walks.
This was our neon sunrise.

How beautiful! We don't get to see much of sunrises and sunsets in the holler. I would love to see them though. We didn't walk our dogs either during the cold spell. Hubby took good care of the outdoor animals and kept our wood fire going good and we were warm and toasty. This warm spell really makes up for the super cold. It was kinda scary as I worried about the donkeys and goats. So glad it didn't last long.

I was concerned about the horses and cattle, although they are large animals and have body heat. There are some folks around here who keep their dogs outside. I hoped they would have the dogs inside while it was freezing. Now that the snow melted and we got plenty of rain my yard is a mud puddle thanks to Rose.

This is the job du jour. A few years ago we laid wood flooring in my mother-in-law's bedroom but I laid the the wrong way and they began popping up. Today I'm pulling them up, turning them around and making sure they're locked together. My knees hurt so I'm taking breaks.

My sweetie took me to Dee Felice Cafe in Covington. They play jazz and serve New Orleans style food. I'm dressed up and feeling very....sophisticated.

I just couldn't resist the wordplay for this article. The kids were so excited to meet the Tooth Fairy that they kept glancing back at her.

I am happy to say that after 1 year or so our bathroom is painted. The old walls were putty colored with a folk art outhouse border halfway up. I like the "beachy" vibe.

I added cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom to it and substituted almond flavoring for vanilla. I heat them up and add yogurt and a sab of jelly.

Last night was the local Farm & Family Night at the community college. The organizers have 2 sessions of classes, a meal, a speaker, door prizes, and organizations that hand out goodies. I got so much swag that it took 2 pictures to show it all.

The two classes I took were Planting for Pollinators and Sensational Salads. I also picked up flower seeds and okra seed for my garden this year. A friend of mine won a door prize sponsored by Environflyte, which raises black fly larvae for animal feed. She kept the dried larvae, but gave me the dog accessories. Rose likes the color.

Has anyone else attended an event like this?

Audra, I know that you will just love your pellet stove even though it has been a lot of work. Here in Colorado, we use ours as mostly our primary source of heat. We usually run it up through April. Enjoy your stove!!

Ruth, after it malfunctioned and smoked up the whole house we removed it. My mother in law was too scared to use it. She has an electric fireplace now to add heat to her apartment.
