While feeding hay last night i noticed a change in a heifer i have. She did not have a calf this spring like she should have. So i was going to get her preg checked, and if she was not bred, she would be headed to the freezer. Turns out she will soon be calving. Got to get her moved to a field where i can watch her easier. Fall calf is what i get for leaving the bull in with everyone longer then he should have been. lol that is ok and hopefully everything goes well.
Hope the new calf shows up before winter hits up there! Good luck with this surprise.

Fall is a weird time for a baby. It will be fun to have around. I hope it will do well in the winter. One Christmas eve one of my goats had babies---was I surprised and I spent a lot of that day in the barn with her. I hate helping to deliver goats and luckily she had an easy time. That is one Christmas eve I will always remember. I still have one of the grown babies---her name is Vixen.

Wow Michele! That is a crazy surprise. I hope both momma and baby do well and everything goes good for you. Keep us posted on how she does.
Barbara, I love how you named her after the Christmas reindeer. It's very fitting since she arrived on Christmas Eve! I would have done the same thing.
Congratulations! She is beautiful and looks like mama is taking good card of her newborn. Love the beautiful view they have out there in your pasture.
