At last--we finally have snow here in Idaho! The grand-girls made a couple of snow-folk at the farm and it makes me want to do the same! Hope you're all taking care and staying healthy out there. Here's to the first Mail Art of the new year!

FOR JANUARY Mail Art, please leave a comment on this thread stating you'd like to join in. Sign-up is available through DECEMBER 30th. If your comment appears after you've posted it, that means you're on the roster.
The theme for this month is "Winter Joy". Most of my past winters were spent wishing it were spring or summer. However, that really doesn't allow you to appreciate the wonderful qualities that winter can bring, and lessons it can teach us. So, whether you're thankful for the snow, the extra sleep, warm fires, or egg nog, let's make some art about it! And if you're wanting to take your own road with the January theme, go for it!
I will send an email with your partner to you on DECEMBER 31st. Please send your Mail Art before JANUARY 31st. And be sure to include enough postage for your Mail Art to reach its destination.
Please post a comment on this thread once you receive your mail art to let your sender know you've received their art. If you can add a picture, that's always nice too!

I love this idea Cydnie! I'm envious of your snow! I'm a misplaced Colorado girl! Stuck in the hot and humid south too long! The snow folk sound so fun! I miss that! Hope you have a beautiful Christmas and New Year!

Thanks Dianna. Been in touch with Cydnie and I think we're all squared away now. They just had an old email addy from when I lived in Nevada and first got the magazine. I hope I didn't give her any gray hairs. She needs to stay stress free so she can write her beautiful travelogues for the Sister issues.

My bad. My bad. I received my wonderful mail art from Dianna last Friday. I had a perfect place to hang it and had DH do so immediately. But I got busy and was remis in photographing it. I don't think words can really convey how lovely this painting is. I think it's done in acrylics and she has used a palet knife application in parts. It is truly a work of art very reminiscent of Vincent Van Gogh's style. But as we all know, she is far too young to have studied with him. Anyway, it is absolutely gorgeous and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. Thank you so very much Dianna. Along with the beautiful painting, she made me one of her charming feed sack aprons. See Jill's (Sheridan126) January 20 post on the Feed Sack Project page.

A beautiful brown heavy cup. A cozy to keep my tea warm.
Crocheted snowflake coasters. A lot of tea! And a loose tea holder.
I love them all. A bright ray of Sunshine on a dreary day.

I received my mail art from Patsy! Omagosh, its WONDERFUL Patsy!! I adore the neck scarf and will definitely use it on what chilly days we have left! Loved the gnome art, the bag full of scrumptious drinking goodies too although Sara ran off with my Starbucks coffee, lol! Thank you so very much! I just live it!!
