I am looking for a tried & true delicious strawberry/rhubarb pie recipe, preferably one that doesn't use tapioca in it. I've tried a few on the internet but haven't found anything I really like. Hopefully someone here has a yummy one to share with me.

I wish I had one to share. My mom made a great strawberry rhubarb pie but so far I haven't been able to find her recipe. I know she did not use tapioca in it. Not sure what she used for thickener.

Thanks Denise. My late mother used to make a delicious pie too, unfortunately I don't know what recipe she used or if she just winged it.

I am in Florida, traveling home to Minnesota, leaving Monday morning, home by Wednesday, May 19th. I have a recipe, will post by Thursday or Friday.

I make a straight rhubarb surprise pie, no stawberries it in. Sorry Dawn. Hope you find one.

Pie recipe. Make 2 pie crusts. Mix together 3 c sliced rhubarb, 2-1/2 c strawberries, 1/3 c lite brown sugar, 1/3 c white sugar, 1/4 c cornstarch, 1/4 teaspoon salt,1T orange juice, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, put in bottom crust,
, 2 T unsalted butter on top of filling, put on top crust brush with 1 large egg mixed with 1T milk. Bake

Bake 20 minutes at 400 then25 to 40 at 350 use pie crust shield after 20 minutes

I made Marlene's rhubarb pie recipe and it was delicious! The consistency was perfect and the strawberry and rhubarb filling was not too sweet. Thank you Marlene for a great recipe and thanks to my Windy Pines cousin, Michele, for shipping me her homegrown rhubarb to make it with!

Strawberry rhubarb pie looks and sounds delicious! We don't seen much rhubarb down here except for the frozen kind. I am guessing that fresh makes a better product.

Fresh is best Winnie! Michele's rhubarb was picked by her and shipped to me, it took only one day from northwestern WI to get to my home, west of Chicago. It was still fresh and crispy, perfect for baking with.
