Finished this yesterday. The thing is, I love making these, but then I don't want to get them dirty or wash them. So I have a whole drawer full of embroidered towels. Same with pillow cases, I have beautiful ones that my Grandma made, but don't want to wash them either. Well I'm pretty sure their are lot bigger things worry about. I'll just open the drawer and look at them once in awhile. Nancy Jo

Beautiful Nancy! I to don't like to use mine but I kept them for a long time and now I use them because I figure I can always make more.

Beautiful embroidery work. Use and enjoy. A pretty embroidered tea towel makes drying the dishes a little bit more fun. Don't you know in years past women loved using their hand-work towels for light duty in their kitchens and then hanging them to dry on wood drying racks. They dug into their rag bags to mop up spills or clean the stove.

You know I understand Nancy Jo and the others on using or not using the towels. I will be honest here, I have a couple of Nancy Jo’s towels she gifted me, I do not use them either. But, I do display them for all to see, and my two guys know not to touch them. Off to look at a house, wish me luck as we have waited long enough -:)

Truly beautiful! And I see why you don't use them. I had two beautiful sets of pillow cases I treasured for years, but I decided to give them away before I died and they were thrown away. I have no children and I have to clean out now. Yours will be something wonderful for your children to keep forever.

Nancy Jo, what a sweet piece of embroidery work you finished! I love the old patterns and it is hard to think about using them and have stains happen on them forever.

Thanks for sharing a photo of your beautiful embroidery Nancy. To use or not to use, that is the question!! I say, if you have a drawer full of them, maybe it's ok to use one or two. They will bring absolute pleasure to the usually mundane task of drying the dishes.

Nancy, I have that problem too! what I do is just use them for "display". Then we can see them and enjoy, but not get it dirty or stained! A lot of work goes into them!!
