Hi from WA, long time farm girl and love all the old things and ways. Have 5 acres, 30 miles north of Seattle, big gardens and raise Highland cattle. I am an artist and crafts person, and do many things but there are many more things I want to learn. I am new here so I will look about and see what's happening. Grace |

Hi Grace, and Welcome! I grew up in area about 30 min north of Seattle as well! I now live in Yakima, orchard country. I have been interested in Highland cattle, but don't know a lot about them. Share more, if you can! Again, Welcome, this is a wonderful and inspiring place to be!

Thank you for making me feel welcome, I have been so busy getting these two big gardens planted, both are about half planted. Hope to have them finished by Tuesday. This is not too late. I have planted gardens before about this time and they are very successful. Maybe because they are not as stressed by the irregular weather of Spring. When it gets hot, I retreat to the inside and work on quilts and painting, a friend gave me several rural mail boxes and so I am painting them up with garden or animal things to go into gardens to hold small tools and gloves, etc., Chat some more later. Yes, Welcome from Wenatchee, Grace! Depending on where you are, there are several Farmgirl Chapters going that you might join up with, or begin your own! I have family in Sedro Woolley area! Small world.

Welcome Grace: I'm interested in hearing about your Highland cattle. Do they originate in Scotland?

Thank you gals for the contacts, I look forward to chatting with you. All but 4 beds at one garden and 2 beds at the other are done. The corn, beans and onions are up from 6 days ago, and the peas were pushing as I worked on the other beds. As for quilts, last 15 years, grandmothers flower garden with old fabric, wedding gift quilts of cherry basket, pinwheel, double irish chain, and one I am working on now a celtic knot. Grand kids quilts, 6 done and working on #7. Started with my first quilt when carring my first son, 40 years ago, Wow!! seems like yesterday. Share more later, stay dry, Grace |
