Hello all! I ran across a copy of Mary Jane's Farm magazine in WalMart this week and am so excited as I read through it. It's a treasure!
I'm Kim MacNutt, married to my wonderful husband Robert for 22 years, have 5 children (4 girls and a boy - 2 oldest girls grown, 1 of which is married), and 4 grandchildren. I used to be really into organics and was part of a food co-op for years, but fell out of it for the sake of saving money. Now I'm renewing my interest in it and was so thrilled to run across that mag in the store. I've started gardening again and am really yearning for a place in the boonies where we can enjoy God's creation on a grander scale. My desire is to have a few goats for milking so I can get back to us drinking raw milk again. I also would love to have chickens for eggs. I grew up having lived off-and-on in a mini farm lifestyle with my parents keeping horses, goats, chickens, and lots of dogs. I want my children to enjoy being outside more and for computer and tv to be a much smaller part of their lives (and mine). Sorry for the first-post ramble. I love the philosophy of the magazine and look forward to what I will be learning from you all here. |
