One person's junk is another's treasure. And I think Thrift Shop shopping is just Junk Shopping! LOL! And Ed and I love thrift shops - we've purchased 2 men's shirts, a skirt and vest and blouse for me, and a dish and a hand-made teacup pincushion - all while in Albuquerque.

Well here we are with little books full of blank pages . . . now what do we do? Well, perhaps . . . .

I use my journals in various ways. First, to write possible beginnings to poems or little stories, ideas, thoughts, etc.
Secondly, I've used them to write down recipes and diet restrictions and help for my health. 3rdly, I've used one for notes on studies I've taken or am taking or for my garden growing tips and ideas!! I have YET to really journal thoughts or record personal data and pictures! Lol! I've kept a couple empty because I LOVE THUMBING THROUGH THEM admiring page after amazing page!! ;) I know they can become art journals too if the pages allow. Just some ideas.

Well, most of the little books I make sit blank in a basket awaiting further inspiration. But I do have three that I putter in now and then. One is called "Love Notes" and DH and I use it now and then to write down things we love about each other. It helps to read it when he's done something to irritate me LOL. The second I use to note interesting things here on the farm such as when the elk herd arrives each year or when the two moose came dancing through the meadow, the incredible odd Sand Hill Cranes that visit occasionally or the hugely majestic resident bald eagle. The third I use to write notes to my beautiful daughter who passed away a few years ago. I miss her so.

A while back Barbie (Rubberfish) and I did a mini junk journal swap that was kind of fun. Barbie started it. She had two little books did five pages in each book. Then I did five pages in both and sent them back to her. The idea was to keep going until both books were filled and then she would keep one and I would keep one. They got lost in the shuffle of each of us moving and we're not sure who has them now. LOL. We are both searching. When we find them, we'll post a photo and maybe resurrect them to finish up.

Well, I got side tracked today and did not get started on my junk
journal. Please pray for our neighbors. Their daughter is missing
It has been 76 hours and it is 106 degrees.in the afternoons. Tonight a helicopter was flying around like crazy. My hubby thought perhaps they were searching. The Texas Rangers became involved today. I feel so sorry for her 14 year old son. Please pray.

It is so difficult for everyone,
even us the neighbors.
Last night they flew a chopper over their land and ours too. 200 +,70 +3 acres
Today they gathered about 20 searchers and several search dogs but found
Nothing. I believe they will return tomorrow.
They put out a statement telling everyone to stay away from here. But they also told the.
People who live out here to check our out buildings, I did.
4 days and 6 hours now. The heat is awful. .

What a sad, sad situation. Things must be terribly tense there. You mentioned that she was 14. Is it possible that she might have run away rather than having been abducted? That can be such an "unstable" age. Is there an Amber Alert out for her? Hoping she will be found safe. Our hearts are with the parents.

The missing woman is 48; her son is 14. I found something on the Internet. She left her son at her mother's house and rode off on her own for a bicycle ride on Friday and hasn't been seen since, but her bicycle mysteriously reappeard at the home on Tuesday morning.

Thanks Linda. Interesting how the details of a given situation can get misinterpreted or misunderstood in the retelling. Those facts put a different spin on the situation. Many possibilities for her sudden and mysterious absence.. . . could be foul play or family drama.

And, now back to Junk Journals. How are y'all coming along with your projects? Please don't hesitate to share your favorite pages with us as you work on them. Afterall when they are done, only the recipient will get to see all the pages. So let's share.

I have made it through the first section but plan to go back and add a bit here and there. I tried glue stick as it takes so long to glue with gel medium, cover with wax paper, and press each time I glue something down so the pages aren't so warped. I'm a beginner at this so just kind of making it up as I go along. Somehow I managed to lose the cap to the glue stick -- looked everywhere ad I swear it just turned invisible. The soda cap will have to work for now.
