I get very excited for fall in July, Declare it starts September 1st! Out come the decorations and candles. I start making pumpkin things: soup, bread, whatever. Coffe on the porch becomes more important to me as I become concerned about my murder of crows, the wee finches, and some birds I hear but never see. I don’t worry if our young squirrel needs to raid the garden. I plant enough for them. Love the coolness and welcome the return of rain. Can you tell I’m a Fall girl? And, of course, college football, fun snacks and pumpkin ale…..

Sylvia, your fall sounds so wonderful! It usually doesn't feel fall here until the middle of October, I celebrate anyway!

Happy Fall. All my decorations are up and I have been enjoying some pumpkin spiced goodies, but we are still in the 80s here. So it only feels like Fall in the early morning or at night when the temps are dropping.

Connie Sue, I love the cute display. I didn't realize that Lily June and my oldest are the same age! How fun.

Connie Sue that is adorable! Just love Peanuts and even though I watch alone now, I still watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" every year.

Oh , how I LOVE to be amongst so many Farmgirls who love Fall as much as I do!! And Sylvia, you are NOT the only one following the Meteorology date that Fall begins on September 1st! Once I found that out, I too declared Fall's arrival come Sept.1 and never looked back!!LOL!!!

Hey everyone, did you hear about the many people who started "SummerWeen" this year in June?? Yep, they were carving watermelons into pumpkin faces, creating summer colored pumpkin and witch dolls, creating costumes summer wearable, making pumpkin breads with canned pumpkin and even hosting Trick or Treat parties at their homes!! So see, WE ARE NOT the only folk who love Fall and Halloween and can't wait until September 21 to start "the party"!! I went nuts when I learned about the new summer moment this year because it just supports the fact that lots and lots of people, besides me, that are secretly peeking in their fall storage boxes in June. Just checking, of course, to make sure nothing happened from the previous check in May!!!!!!!!!!! And the best news is Halloween is on its way followed by Thanksgiving. We have 2 more months to just take in all the wonderful traditions and Mother Nature's contributions to this much loved season.
