Shannon If Emi is behaving differently, enough to give you concern, please call the doctor or go to the hospital and get checked out. Her welfare and yours, are in your hands. Let us know how you make out.

Shannon, I'm so sorry you're going through this rough time right now. I'm praying for you and your family. I also agree with Kathleen and Joyce about your baby. Don't ignore that motherly intuition. If you feel something is wrong, definitely check it out.

I'm with the other ladies, Shannon. Have yourself and Emi checked out if you are concerned. You don't need any more stress. A check-up would eliminate this one.

I've attempted to send the breakfast recipe to each of you. You may receive it twice or not at all. This is my first time trying to set up a group e-mail. Please let me know if you don't receive it or would like me to send you a snail mail copy. Happy Summer!

Update: Emi is moving around pretty well now. I am dehydrated and need to take it easy. Apparently I have borderline heat exhaustion. Now to figure out how to get done yet still obey. Thank you for all your prayers and your hugs <3

Great news Shannon! So pleased to hear it isn't more serious. Please take time to take care of yourself and the little one. I know you have so much going on that it is difficult to do...... but please, just squeeze out a bit of Mommy & baby time, the family will cope.

Yay, Shannon! So happy to hear you and Emi are fine. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. (That's my mantra right now...even in Iowa.)

On Monday I went to the strawberry farm with DD and 2 of the grands. Came home with about 35 pounds of berries.
DH went out to the Dollar General for milk and came home with 6 cases of Golden Harvest jelly jars! Such a nice surprise, can never have too many jars.

Yesterday I used 4 pounds to make preserves, but it didn't turn out quite right. I am so out of practice make jams and preserves... anyway, it didn't set and I ended up with 13 dozen 1/2 pints of a quite nice strawberry sauce, nice and thick but not thick enough for jam.
I am nothing if not persistent. Today I will be trying it again. This time, smaller batch, in a very large pot.

Kathleen you got that right never can have too many jars. Strawberry sauce will be so good on so many things. Like angle food cake. Don't know where the angle food cake came from. I haven't had any in years. Here's to the next batch being just right.

I'm got to stop playing on the computer and get dress to go grocery shopping. Want to be home before it starts getting hot. Summer has arrived in Texas.

Yum!!! Angel food cake! Or pound cake! (okay.. one density to the other, but still!) Strawberry shortcake! Pancakes or waffles. Homemade vanilla ice cream. Oh yum!

Strawberries are no longer in season here :( But blueberries are! We need to go picking! Next month is peaches! Then in August is apples! LOVE picking local fruit!

Right now our garden is doing fantastic! We are getting some nice tomatoes this year :) Last year we had only gotten maybe 3 tomatoes the entire season! We've also gotten a decent crop of cucumbers so far! We got about 10 pounds of potatoes, lots of garlic, plenty of radishes, carrots, peas, and some green beans thus far. I guess I need to look at the gardening badges, lol.

The garden here is doing nicely also. I have high hopes for this years crop. So far the summer squash and zucchini look like they will be plentiful. The tomato plants have flowers and I spotted 3 tomatoes on one plant the other day. The cabbages had a difficult start due to cabbage worms, but I got rid of the pests and now the plants seem to be growing nicely.
Everything is still in the beginning stages of growth, but each time I give them another dose of chicken poo tea they grow. It's amazing, how much faster they develop after a feeding.

Didn't plant potatoes or corn this year. I replanted the small onions from last year and they are going to seed now. I will be saving those seeds to start next February.

Shannon your growing season is so far ahead of ours. My beans and beets are just sprouting now. I have given up trying to grow carrots, never had any luck with them in any of my gardens.

Strawberry season is just ending; blueberries next, Peaches in August, Apples not until late September into October.

I probably should look at the gardening badges too.

What is Emi's due date?

That is going to be a HUGE change for us when we move out west... a totally different growing season, and so much shorter! This is the first year we were successful with carrots, and our first year growing potatoes and garlic! I am finally getting somewhat of a handle of a growing season down here in the south ;)

Emi is due the end of August or beginning of September. They have never decided on an official due date. Generally her ultrasounds show the 30th or 31st of August though. My cycles say she is due August 23rd. For the hospital I think they put my due date as September 2nd. Something about in order to change my due date it has to be at least 10 days difference, so in case I am "late" delivering according to my last cycle, they won't try to force an induction if they switch my due date to September 2nd.

When and to where do you plan to move West? You should know best when to expect her, I go with that.

Having babies seems so confusing to me these days. It was so simple back when I had my babies.

These days people seem to plan and talk it to death and by the time finally "decide" have a baby they are past their prime and need help to get pregnant.... or is this just me?

What ever happened to just letting nature take its course and have children while a person is young and strong enough to have and enjoy them? ... sorry...got off track again.....

When I first got thought I might be pregnant, my grandmother counted so many days starting at the first day my last "monthly"...... she was always right on!

It is such an exciting wonderful time in our lives...... I envy you Shannon.

Hubby retires in less than 18 months from the Air Force.. he should be going on terminal leave the end of next August. At that point, we plan to move to Wyoming - around the Sundance or Aladdin area (northeast). We dream of homesteading in that area :)

As for babies... I am so there with you! I'm not one to want a career first and babies later... I started my career as a nurse and finished Pre-Med with the desire to go to medical school... then got married and shortly later was pregnant... thus started my SAHM career. This is baby number 7, in almost 12 years. My oldest will be 12 on the 31st of August :) To figure out my due dates, I take my last cycle, subtract three months and add a week. That is usually right around the time the baby is due :)

That all sounds wonderful! I absolutely love Wyoming and can't wait to revisit it next year. My husband was a navy man, a SeaBee for eight years. He has always regretted not staying long enough to retire. (his first wife didn't like being a navy wife and made him choose). Anyway, we are looking for a place to relocate to and homestead. I can't deal with these cold winters any longer. He can work from just about any place in the world for his company, so looking for an ideal place is like choosing just one candy out of an entire candy store. lol

My dream, and now his too, is to own a farm with at least 10 acres, with gardens, woods, water,a view and most importantly moderate temperatures year round. Plenty of those around, right? ;)

I just posted on the main forum, but wanted to here as well... went to the OB today. Apparently the dehydration and heat exhaustion I am constantly battling is causing Emi's heart rate to be very high. Please please pray for us!

Wanted to jump on here and post real quick... struggling a little bit feeling overwhelmed. In all honesty, I have most of the house packed... I'm at the point where it is little stuff all over the place, that I have left, and the stuff we are still using. With eight of us in the house, it is hard to figure out what we still definitely need. Hubby still has quite a bit of "projects" he needs to finish... lots of painting, trim, blinds, and such. I feel like we are doing pretty well overall, and yet I also feel overwhelmed. Is it normal to feel like this before moving? I haven't moved since 2004!
