Zabrina was really improving yesterday, but, though she is still eating well, today not so much. Teacup seems fine for the most part.

I am going to find a doctor tomorrow Denise. am still not 100%. My left ovary still hurts and maybe my kidneys? My bladder feels like I am pregnant with having to pee, but (this has improved) I have hard time starting the stream and it hurts. I just want to feel well. I don't want to hurt.

And I just want my goats well.

I have a prayer concern of sorts... many of you probably already know my health is not good. I had surgery a couple years back to remove one of my adrenal glands due to a mass on it. This fixed the issues it was causing, namely extremely low potassium (though I was on a lethal amount of oral), which caused issues to my heart rhythm, which in turn caused me to pass out daily multiple times (the kids were so use to it, they would just walk over me - I was in a state of constant concussions), and my entire body cramping up. The issue was, though, that the other adrenal gland had basically quit working and still isn't working correctly! Your adrenal gland is not only in charge of your "fight or flight" mechanism, but also is in charge of multiple other hormones, affecting other glands and organs. Long story short, last year, my doctors (both in South Carolina and Johns Hopkins up in MD) basically threw their hands up and said they didn't know what else to do for me, and that if things keep going downhill at the same rate as they were, I only had five to seven years left on this earth. Fast forward the last year... after some research hubby and I found some supplements to put me on that seem to be helping. They are herbal supplements and have helped with some of my blood work numbers!!! On the 23rd of May I have an appointment to meet with a herbalist. She is known to be pretty straightforward... while on one hand this is great, and the other, it concerns me. What many of you might not know is I have very low self esteem and take everything to heart... This obviously doesn't necessarily go well with straightforwardness ;) Please pray that she will helpmeet figure out, or at least send me in the right direction, of how to help heal my body <3

I'm pretty hopeful about it Alicia! Considering modern medicine doctors have no hope for me, it can only help :)

Shannon will keep you in my prayers. I really think the herbalist will be great!!

Check in on me...............................
No houseboat, YET. Still shopping. We have looked at 2 and they just was not what we wanted.

The women's wilderness weekend was terrific, with the exception of the weather. We toughed out one of the worst storms I have seen in years.
My tent made it thru like a trooper. Other's did not, but no one was hurt and we just made the best of it. We had over 8inches of rain. I did go to the car for part of the storm. Canopy's and stuff was blowing all over the place. There was probably 8 of those easy-up canopy's in the dumpster on Sat.
I have never seen a lightening show like that! There are still 40 local roads closed due to high water.
But the DNR organizers done awesome and with a little shuffling of events we still had a terrific weekend. Saturday it cleared off in the afternoon and we went kayaking.
I loved the archery so much I am actually picking up a bow after work today from a guy on Craigslist.
I am definitely going next year so if you want to go I will let you know when the signups open :)
We had a really nice Birthday get together yesterday for my mom. So the weekend worked out pretty nice.

Sorry I've been away a few days! I've been focusing on plants and school. I started my seeds a little late, but they're doing well. Jason's aunt owns a greenhouse, and I've been helping her there on the weekends.

Alicia and Shannon I will definitely keep you in my prayers. I hope you both can figure out what's going on. Alicia, I had that peeing problem the last two times I was pregnant, but never when I'm not pregnant (?). How is your goat doing? Is she better? Shannon what kind of supplements are you on right now? I hope this herbalist can give you a good plan.

Bridge, I am very interested in WW weekend next year! Let me know when you sign up next year. When did you sign up this year? Just so I can get it on my radar. What kind of bow do you girls have?

Will do Erin, it is always in the spring of the year.

I picked up the bow and it was a great bargain (DH said so) but it may be too much "bow" for me. We shall see.
The guy was in his late 60's and he said he was getting too old to bow hunt. That he was going to stick to gun hunting.
He gave me his entire setup in the deal(case, bow, arrows, tips, accessories), he seemed pretty fascinated that a women wanted to bow hunt. LOL.
I am going to try it out this week or weekend depending on time and weather. But DH said he knows a place I could trade it in for a lighter pull if I wanted.
I kinda want to make this one work ;) but we shall see. It is a Martin Bengal Compound Bow.

Great Outdoors in Jasper has a great selection, Bridge, if you change your mind. I got mine there, used. It is a PSE Nova. Oldie, but I just like to shoot it for fun!

I'm back :) My students have written their exams last weekend. The practical exams are in June, and a recital in June, but that won't be nearly as labour intensive as the written exams. I'm thrilled to be back - I have really missed you all. I've tried to catch up on everything - I'm praying for you all.

Today, hopefully, I'm getting my cow :) I'm so excited - she was suppose to come on Wednesday, but that got delayed until Saturday, so hopefully today. She's a Jersey - is having her second calf July 9th. We also got a jersey bull calf. I'm very excited about this new adventure! I'm wondering if any of you know what we can do to prevent her from getting milk fever? Jersey's are prone to getting milk fever after calving, and I've read my "Milk Cow Kitchen" and still have questions on prevention. I know there is no 100% prevention, but I thought I would like to do what I can.

I've been busy fermenting in my kitchen lately - I have koombucha, kefir and sourdough :) The problem is that hubby doesn't like my homemade sourdough - I think he finds it too dense (I'm using spelt flour or heritage flour) and I think I'll try a mix of spelt and organic white. He also doesn't like my koombucha - but the kids and I all love it, so there's never enough for him anyway :D

Good morning dear friends.

It is so lovely to see you back on here Joyce!!! I've missed you! How exciting to get your cow! Oh how I wish I was not allergic to cow milk!!! Do you have milk kefir or water kefir going on your counter? I cannot imagine my hubby not enjoying my sourdough! We have kombucha going (which everyone except me drinks), water kefir, and einkorn sourdough constantly going. I need to find a way to either use my sourdough everyday or to start putting in the fridge and only pulling it out when I am ready to bake. I have not gotten to it as often as I've been wanting!

Debbie - I received my takeover takeover - BEAUTIFUL!!!! I'm still working on getting my things ready to mail to you and Joyce.

I'm probably not going to be on here much over the next week or so... some of you may have seen on the main board that our family got hit with a massive stomach bug. no big deal, except it left me exhausted and dehydrated... which has resulted in contractions. So I'm on bedrest for right now... well as much as possible with seven children and homeschooling! I seemed to be doing better and then helped in the kitchen yesterday... that didn't go so well :( So I'm back to taking it more easy.

Prayers for these requests.
Hope everyone is doing better.

Joyce, that is exciting to have your own milk cow.
I have wanted one but JT wants a steer to raise for meat. Neither has happened. Our baby chicks are growing. They are 4 weeks old. So next week they will go into their own pen inside the big coop. The babies are RI reds and the Black Sex Link. I love how pretty they are. Mostly,we have been taming things outside. It is looking quite good. I have been working in the garden which makes me happy. I need to apply for my badge but I'm waiting on one of the books to arrive.

Here's some pics. Denise - the baby is a boy, so we'll raise him as a steer for meat. The baby (Bovine) is not my cow's (Daisy)calf, but amazingly, she adopted him! Which works great for us for a little while, before we'll have to take him off her so she can rest before she gives birth.

Thanks Bridge and Debbie :) I used to have a jersey cow....about 4 years ago. We had to sell her because we were moving, and then we got Dexter cows. I'm happy to have a jersey again :)

Praying, Bridge!
