Hi everyone. Here is the list for the August swap. I assume -- and you know what they say about "assume" :) -- that I got it right, but I'm still in catch up mode. So . . . if I put someone on on the list or left someone off, please forgive my groggy, foggy brain and just let me know.

Thanks so much for participating! HUGS!I'm so glad everyone is enjoying this! Our theme for August is recipes for Zucchini. It seems like no matter where you live, everyone is covered up in zucchini this time of year. There's even a day in August called "Sneak Some Zucchini on to Your Neighbor's Porch Day!"
Sign Up by July 31
Mail Out by August 15
By the way, in case you're an early bird kind of Farmgirl, here are the themes for the next few months. I'll still make monthly postings, though.
September is "Better Breakfast Month" so we'll do a breakfast recipe.
October will be a slow cooker recipe.
November will be a recipe for Thanksgiving leftovers.
December will be a fast and easy dinner recipe for busy days.

The height of our zucchini season ends in June. Praise God!! Here in the South, it will grow two feet long if you don't watch out. We have so much warm weather in the late Spring that the plants go gang busters overnight. We all laugh because people come to work or gatherings with huge sacks full of the squash begging everyone to take it off their hands. Hahahaha, we laugh that it will completely overrun your yard and strangle you when you try and escape it from your house!! Does it grow that crazy up North? Most of us in Florida have our freezers full, relishes made and baby zucchini bread loaves frozen.
One reason I enjoy having zucchini in my freezer is that I like to add it to spaghetti sauce and homemade vegetable soups. It makes an easy source of ready to add extra vegetables to some of our family favorites. |

Today, I realized that I was on the list to send out a recipe and I thought I didn't really sign up!! Oh my!! Denise sent me one for Zucchini Alfredo that looks delicious!!
I apologize for this confusion!! I didn't even prepare a recipe to share. You don't need to send me a card as I am not sending any out either. I actually do not have any really good ways of making zucchini as I mostly add it to things like soup and spaghetti sauce to give it more veggies. Forgive me Farmgirls!! I guess I should not have left a comment which was confusing to everyone. |

| My bad, Winnie, I should have realized you were making a comment-- you didn't actually say you were signing up at all (there's that "assume" problem I mentioned). Well, now you'll have some zucchini recipes to try! I haven't even checked my mail, I've been so out of it for a few days, but I know there are some Farmgirl envelopes waiting for me. I did get mine out yesterday, though. |
