It was a beautiful 56 this morning when I got up. A perfect morning to sit out on the deck and enjoy my coffee. Although we are having some hot days this next week (upper 80's most days) the nights are starting to cool off nicely. I love sleeping with the windows open. We took the boat out the other day and I noticed along the shoreline some of the leaves are starting to turn golden.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

Julie, those sound like wonderful temperatures! Can't wait to start my mornings on the porch in some cooler times.

Beautiful today! So glad to see the sunshine! It was 61 this morning so we are heading in the right direction. Can't wait for those cool fall mornings ahead. I know Winnie and those of you down south won't see those temps for awhile but it's hard not to get excited when it starts cooling down. Most people as they get older seem to need more warm but I am the opposite. I am warm all the time and look forward to cooler weather.

Last night about 1am we went down to 68. This morning it was 70. Very nice. Sadly we only got light tain. When I went out to pull the wagon with my son's lunch box in it out to the road...it was barely dripping.dark. and so nice.

We had 56 this morning, although now it is up to 84. It is supposed to be our warmest week of August this week, it will only last a short while so we can tolerate it knowing the end is in sight.

I wish we would get lower temps here - supposed to be in the high 80s today because of the little rain we got last night. I'd LOVE to feel the 50s and 60s again.

Night before lat it was still 106 at 9pm. Last night at nine it was down to 91. Some improvement. Thank goodness for an a/c in the bedroom.

sounds like our weather here in Minnesota today. Tomorrow it will be 90 and humid. Yuch! Not my kind of weather. It's only 4 weeks until fall. It is still warm then but by the end of October we can have snow.

In the 90s today; a mixed blessing as the smoke blocking the sun is making it about 10 degrees cooler than it would have been. Lightening started over 300 fires and once again thousands are being evacuated from their homes, not knowing what they will find when they return. On top of covid this just seems to much to bear. I worry for my Daughter and Granddaughter in Napa. Daughter was evacuated three years ago and for over 2 weeks we didn't know if she had a home to return to or not.

I am so sorry to hear about all those fires down there Judith, I have been watching on You Tube and get regular alerts on the radio about evacuations. There are also more up by Redding area again this year, It is horrible! Alot of smoke out there.
Your in my prayers, please keep safe down there.
Blessings

Looks like the last week of August wants to give us one more heat blast. Sure hope September cools down a little for everyone.

Judith, I hope those fires don't come near you or anyone of our farm girls in our hen house. They are awful. We had mid-nineties today and very humid. One more day and then less humid and cooler.

We had to take a quickie road trip this week down to Blythe in the south eastern part of California. While it was super nice to see blue sky and not smell smoke we had to endure 119 degrees for a while. It was so hot that just sanding in the sun for a few minutes you could feel the burn on your skin. I don't know how people can stand to live there. I was happy to come home to our 99 degrees. The air is less smokier today and my new air cleaner is supposed to be delivered tomorrow.

I don't know how you gals handle those temperatures!
Though I was getting used to no a.c. so won't be having it as cool in here.
We are in for rain showers and thunderstorms today. I believe it's the remnants of Laura coming across.

Definitely going to enjoy the next few days. In the 70s until we heat back up on Thursday and Friday. At least the cooler temps give me a feeling of fall. I have all my fall fabric out working on projects.

Judith, still praying for everyone in the path of fires. Even in Minnesota we get hazy skies from the fires in California.

My goodness -- I didn't know the smoke was traveling that far. All help appreciated. Too much tragedy lately with the virus, fires, hurricanes.
