We live in the country...I do not use curtains...So Mr. Moon was very bright shining up there, and through my windows, last night. He kept me awake for a good bit, but it was fun to watch until he got up high in the sky.
Carole, here in Texas we call your blizzards Noreasters. I have no idea why.

I don't know if you've heard -- I talked to Brian yesterday and he said that at Mary Janes Farm on Saturday they had 8 inches of snow, and Sunday (or Monday, I can't remember) they had 59 degrees and rain, so they are dealing with a lot of flooding. They have been kept busy.

Oh my goodness. I knew it was supposed to do that, but I did not realize it would go into Idaho.

When winter is crazy like that ... floods and quite the mess is the norm. We almost had the river down the street over flow due to the quick thaw and the rain. Luckily, it completely thawed and nothing jammed causing flooding. I do hope all is well with MJF. I'll have to pop on over the main forum.

Gorgeous day out! It is still snowing. Not sure how much snow we've had but it is well over 12 inches! Check out our roof! We had no snow prior to this storm.

Stay warm and cool if needed, Mugginess is not fun.
It is raining here.

I understand the AC. If I did not have ceiling fans I might go on and turn mine on. The geese have left, ticks are out and yesterday when I opened the front door, Mr. Twister was right there to look outside...instead he hissed! I turned to see a snake wound around the spring. Quickly I closed the wooden door, and went to the back door to grab a hoe. I chop chopped him. He was about 18"long with a pointy tail, and now he is dead. Too much summer before spring even begins.

Darlene you are so right it's not any fun.

Marilyn, how scary. When there's a snake around a hoe is a woman's best friend. I'm been in Paris for five years and have seen two baby copperheads and one large snakeskin. The first summer I was here I killed the first one and Annie got the other one last fall. My best snake dog was the runt of the litter rat terrier. Scully killed two copperheads and one cottonmouth water-moccasin. All about 2'.

Wow Sara. I hardly see snakes in my area. There was a rattlesnake years ago here that fell off a logger truck and ended up in my outside hall way and went down a hole and came up in front of the post office and someone caught it and took it away. I got to see that one very closely when I came in my back door and it was curled up sleeping. I stepped over it and went in the house and it was gone down the hole when I cane back. Life in interesting. :D

Darlene, that's a funny snake story. He sure did get around.

I read a book on snakes and it said copperheads are more dangerous to people than rattlesnakes because they are aggressive. A copperhead will attack where if a rattlesnake has a choice it will get away. There are a couple of rattlers on the endangered list. The way I see it all snakes are endangered around me.

Hi 85 - humidity 74% so all outside work will be done early. Hope to plant Sweet Annie (Artemisia) today. Shouldn't be too hard I only have room for two plants.

Our weather has been beautiful in the mornings, but pretty warm in the afternoons. My cabbage plants are really spreading out. My husband found some cauliflower plants today...So I will plant them tomorrow. Broccoli plants seem happy also.
I have two broody hens. Seabrite is one, she is a Banty hen. She is not happy that I disturb her each day, moving her to collect the extra eggs so generously given to her by the other hens. She has 7 Banty eggs and that is plenty for her to sit on.
The other hen is a Wyandotte. I guess she is intent to stay, so I took her three eggs away, and replaced them with two Rhode Island Red hen eggs. Tomorrow I will add more from the pen with a rooster.
Fun times on the tiny farm.
My son had a new baby stud colt born early Sunday morning. He is so cute and a dark color like charcoal. I am sure he will change some.

Oh, I should have said that I will move the broody moms soon. I usually let them be for a few days before I go to the trouble of moving them away from the other hens, and their generosity, when I feel pretty sure they are willing to stay put for three to four weeks.

Well, we had a few days of gorgeous warmish weather. warm enough to sit outside and enjoy the sun's warm rays! - the snow was screaming "I'm melting" - I think we loss a good six (6) inches.

Today we are freezing ... what a drastic change ... I don't mind the cold, it's the wind ... Brrrr, it's so cold!

Brrrrr, too cold for me. We left winter and hit summer. We were in the 90s day before yesterday. I guess we skipped spring...oh wait a minute I forgot...We are due to get some severe weather before weeks end. I hope they are wrong.

The wind, THE WIND!!! Blow, blow gust, Gust! I would be glad to share. My windows are open and they rattle as it blows and sucks at them. I love a nice breeze, but gusty wind is not fun.

I love the wind, I hope it doesn't hail. I can see the storms coming from the west. We need the rain, so I'm hoping it is not damaging winds along with the rain.
