Mr. Sun has arrived! Should be a beautiful day, except for the fact that I have to run to the store. We forgot Apple juice! Hey, Dollar General is on my side of town...five miles away rather than nine with all of the traffic.

We are beginning our day at 52°, cloudy!
Tomorrow we go up to 69°.
Then back to 51° on Thursday.
Mr Sun is supposed to visit, in all of his glory, on Friday.75°!
After that we descend into winter once more.
The weather guys say we might get back to where we are right now by next Thursday. In the mean time we will experience several periods of fog and /or rain.
So I will try to move some firewood into the old garage today, so it will be dry.
My little farm wagon really comes in handy!

It's a chilly 33 here today. We will be in the 40's this week and no higher than the 30's all next week. I guess old winter is trying to hang on as long as possible towards the end this year. Can Spring really be only 22 days away?

As much as I'd like to it won't be happening here anytime soon. Funny how even though all the seasons are marked on the calendar as being the same length of time winter always seems to be the longest.

Marilyn, I am soooo green with envy. Nothing but snow here and 25 below zero by Sun. We will really celebrate spring when it comes!

On Bonnie, when you finally see the grass without its heavy white blanket...yep, I think you should celebrate. I am afraid the little old tree will die from shock. May God be with you as you wait for the miracle of spring!

These are photos that I took of our old peach tree in bloom on February 27th. She is beautiful. The reason we rarely have peaches will come Sunday night when our temperatures dip down around 20°.

Today at noon it was 69°. At 1:45, as I left the barn I noticed the wind was picking up a little and more of a westerly breeze. Hang on tight! A few minutes later it was 53° with a strong North wind. I had to bundle up to gather firewood because by 3:30 it was 43° and it continues to drop. Crazy weather!

That is about where we started out day. We have finally made it to 29° but the wind is horrid and bitter cold!!! My chickens are all alive, thank you God!But the laying was only half the normal rate. I will break a couple to see if they are frozen. The horses,my son broke the water in their buckets and troughs this morning but within two hours they had huge ice cubes. He will be out there until very late to night, trying to water everyone. Then it will just freeze again!

After the nightmare yesterday of trying to get the animals a drink...It will be nice to have sunshine and temps up to the lower 40s. Of course that will reveal the busted faucets. I asked my son yesterday if he had ever thought of using heat tape??? He has not. He put No Freeze Faucets in every pasture, at both ends of the arena, etc. That was when we first bought this place. But the barn has the pressure tank inside a big hugs wooden box inside the tac room. It has never frozen but the faucet that I use to water the horses has frozen twice this winter. I even tried what my husband did the first time, he lit some newspapers on fire and thawed it out. He was at the clinic yesterday, so I tried to get newspaper to burn...over and over, many matches were lit...but the news paper would not burn! So I called my son, and came home, to get warm.

It was definitely cold this morning. As we get nearer to home it seems to be warming.

We had Mr. Sun out there today and it was so pretty, but the icy North wind is still present. Tomorrow is supposed to be better.

The last 2 nights lows went down to 18 with a wind chill of 9 the last 2 mornings! The high temp will be 48 tomorrow and climbing to 65 by Sunday! Daylight Savings time starts! Set you clocks back Saturday night before you go to bed!

Yep - forward, not back. LOL!

Ed and my oldest grandson, Greg, are going to Sweetwater, TX for the Rattlesnake Ruondup this weekend. They leave in the motorhome tomorrow. It will be nice to have a few days to myself, though I have a lot of cleaning to do. Sometimes that is easier without a man messing things up as I go, LOL!

I am going to the Dallas Quilt Show - a big show - on Saturday with a friennd/neighbor. I do need some fabric for another kids quilt, but I hope I don't find too mmuch more fabric that I can't do without. LOL!
