Bound and determined to make an impact on her community and nourished by the desire to live more consciously and sustainably, Emily Rose joined the GoodMedicine Girls tribe in 2013, bearing a strong passion for urban homesteading. Introduced to the Farmgirl Sisterhood by cousin and sistermama Kim, Emily instantly discovered a Happy Hunting Ground where like-minded, powerful and influential women meet to share ideas, encourage growth and development and expand their expertise on homesteading and Farmgirl Living.
Derived from a background in Music Therapy, the Live Music Scene, Dance, Close-Knit Family Kinship and a free-spirit existence, Emily Rose has a wide array of hobbies and interests that compliment her Farmgirl lifestyle, such as Yoga and Meditation, Volunteering, Hula Hooping, Dancing, an affinity for live music, concerts and festivals, and boasts an impressive catalogue of past encounters with some of her favorite musicians, including Matisyahu, Three Dog Night, Carlene Carter, Soulfly, Fortunate Youth, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Nick Curran, Philip Anselmo and others.
Currently residing in Suburbia, Emily Rose is a construction professional with an intense devotion to sustainable living. Through vegetable and herb gardening, raising chickens and rabbits, composting and recycling, Emily Rose strives to instill in her her Young Cultivators (Aidan-14, Madeline-10, Kerry-3) the value of living responsibly and loving your neighbor. She independently operates a soup kitchen donation program that's sole mission is to educate elementary-aged children on the affects of poverty on a global scale, with a focus on guiding them through the process of preparing food for hungry people in their surrounding communities, and empowering them to take action at their own level to develop behaviors that positively impact their peers.
Joining the Farmgirl Sisterhood was the icing on the cake for this Farmgirl. Alas, Emily Rose has found her home. She enjoys earning Farmgirl badges and hopes to someday obtain the honor and prestige of adding the Farmgirl "SchoolMarm," "Farmgirl Guide," and "Chapter Guru" titles to her resume. Most of all, she prays that the Farmgirl Sisterhood and her Farmgirl Sisters will remain a constant through the rest of her life. Her Farmgirl Sisters are her heart. They remind her of her purpose. The laughs that she has at Farmgirl meetings can be heard for miles, and the love she receives from her sisters (especially their Chapter's Chapter Leader, Kim, who has always encouraged and inspired her to keep going, keep loving and keep LIVING) sustains her. Thank God for Mary Jane Butters, the Farmgirl Sisterhood, and Farmgirl Sisters.
