I hope you get all the wheat in before the rain Julie. When is harvesting over? I take handwork just about everywhere I go so if I have to do any waiting I can have something to keep my hands busy.

You gals are doing well to declutter and get rid of things. I still have lots of boxes in the garage that we were going to put out in a garage sale. Now I am thinking I will just put it on Marketplace for Come-and-get-it. LOL! Don't want to deal with all of it - and I am sure there is someone who can use it.

Linda,
Marketplace seems to work well and you don't have to go to all the trouble of a yard sale, toting things out. JT only bring a few tubs in at a time from the shed but I am determined to get the stuff out of here. Some of it is from my dad yet. I thought I had gone through everything of his but I guess we must have stored stuff out there for him. The thrift stores are open here so I am very glad I can load up the car as I go and drop it off when I pass that way. The sooner I take it the better off I am. So far I have only taken one thing back out from all the boxes I have taken there. I think I can sell that item myself.

I have noticed while doing some sewing and things for swaps I don't seem to have the stash of fabric I used to. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or not. LOL!

My fabric stash is dwindling, but I have so much that it really isn't very noticeable. LOL! I have not been buying as much except when needed. I have been using some for the swaps I've been participating in.

I have sold a number of things on Marketplace and still have quite a few listed there. Just last week I sold an antique chifferobe. The smaller $20 or less items are easier to sell than the few antiques I don't need any longer. People are good about wearing masks and some I just leave on the porch and they leave the money in a jar I have there.

I will have to take things down next week when we go on vacation. Maybe then when I put them back on they will get some new action.

Linda what did your chifferobe look like. I have one too. Mine has glass in the long door, which is on the right side of it. I keep Quilts and chinelle spreads in there. On the left there are drawers. Above the drawers is a flat area with a mirror.
Was yours similar??? I've thought of selling mine, but have no idea what to ask!I'm guessing but the wood grain tells me it is oak.

I would like to say, we are finishing wheat in a few days however we were rained out Sunday afternoon and got hail early Monday morning. So we are done until later in the week. I have been catching up with the garden and working on a few projects for our fall swap.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

So to hear about the hail and rain stopping you from getting all finished up Julie. I'm sure it is a relief once the harvest is all in.

I have been working on some things for our fall swap too.

Marilyn -

Here are the pix of my chifferobe. I sold for $320 (was asking $350). I paid a bit more than that 8 years ago. It was the closet in the spare bedroom in the farmhouse but I did not need it here.

Linda that is a nice one. I believe it is more modern than mine. Mine has legs. My door is on the right side.

Mine has four drawers on the left side with the tilting mirror. It has a hanging rod, made of wood. It runs from back to front. The legs are curvy and have little rollers on the bottom of each.

Thank you - it is beautiful. Glad I found someone who would love it like I did.
This has wheels, but I hadn't used them. The closet side also has a metal hanging rod from front to back, and it would slide out to make getting clothes out easier.

Yes I think yours is more modern. Fancier.

Julie has a lingerie cabinet. It is in the barn apartment. She used it when they lived on the college farm then in the barn apartment. I bought it for her. It is about 6 feet long and about that tall too.

My parents had a similar piece when we were growing up. It had a desk on the side where you have drawers and a clear glass door on the other side that had shelves in it. I don't remember what was up where the mirror is, it may have been a mirror. I'm not sure what he called it. Maybe a side by side?

LInda, you buyer got a beautiful piece at a very fair price!! It is gorgeous and will make a sweet addition to someone's bedroom.

It has been so dreadfully hot and humid here that I have been inside this week doing little cross stitch bowl fillers in fall themes. Just little things to have fun with and that I can give away or just keep. I used one of them for an upcoming fall pincushion swap and then I kept having new ideas so I keep on stitching. I also found this cute Amish Apple tree cross stitch pattern on the internet and can't wait to get started on that too.Tis the Apple Season you know!

Winnie, where do you find your cross stitch patterns? I have a hard time finding them anymore.

Denise, I have been using a few basic patterns from my artist friend Heather Sleightholm. You can purchase some easy digital patterns from her Etsy store. Then I just take a bit of this and that pattern and put them together. I also purchased a notebook with grid paper and try and make up shapes. I made up an apple that turned out OK. These little bowl filers are on 4’x 4” squares of either 14 or 11 AIda. I just make up stuff as I stitch. I will down load a few photos later and post here so you can see.

Debbie,
You can see in the picture three stuffed candy corn that Linda sewed up for me for the fall swap. I can't get the picture to upload right now but if you go to the swap thread you can see them.
