Praying for a better year ahead!
I am starting the year lighter. Purging my home and some extra unwanted pounds. I have lost 12 since November by changing my eating habits and exercising everyday. I don't make new year resolutions because I don't stick with them. I do my reasonable goals throughout my year. I met one of the goals by decluttering keeping in mind what do I want to pack and what do I want to let go? As most of you know it is an ongoing process.
I will continue my good health habits into the New year so I can meet those goals and keep them.
Today is the beginning of 365 blank pages. What will you fill them with?

I want my vaccination so I can see my family and friends again. I would like to lose another 10 pounds or so. I've lost 22 since my diabetic diagnosis last January on my self-directed low carb diet. Decluttering should be on my agenda but every time I clear a space out DH fills it up. I have resolved never to make New Years resolutions, just try to do better each year.

It's always a good idea to lose weight if it is needed. Mine is needed. I still have some to go yet also. It's not easy but necessary.

I am trying to lose weight which I have been doing pretty good until lately, but am going to turn it around and continue with what I was doing before. I think I just got bored and starting eating wrong again. I am trying to rearrange too. It isn't easy but I need to do it. Yes.

Happy New year.

Here is my first blessing of the new year!
You all know I've been cleaning, sorting, etc. Today I ran across a leather cd holder that had some cds my dad liked to listen to. I knew they were in there and so set it aside. What I didn't know was in there were cds my dad had made years ago of him and my mom talking to my aunt. Someone had taken the cassette tapes he made and put them on cds. What a blessing it was to find those treasures. I loved hearing their voices again. I also have a cassette of them singing a song that was very special to them, my dad is playing the guitar on that one while they sing.

What a treasure to find! My Dad wrote stories of his life that an online friend turned into a book. I wish Mom had done that; she turned out to be a mystery and there is no one left to solve it.

My dad used to tell stories all the time about his childhood. I wish I could have gotten him to write more down. He did write a little but not much. That is why I'm glad to have these cds. Conversations with his sisters. They always would prompt stories from him. There is one where he is reading some poems he found and wanted to share with them.

Denise you found a real treasure! I need to get someone to transfer some old home movies to DVDs. I have a tape That I made when Bay was about 2....the very first time she ever slept away from her mom and dad. It is so funny. Julie was crying in the background as Wade gave me instructions on how to care for his precious baby.
Hey it was after midnight...and she was sound asleep...and had been for five hours. Ha ha.

I'm in the mid Atlantic and this is way too early. If we get cold again they may not make it.

I have been missing for awhile so much to catch up on. I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year. Much has been happening at our house through the month of December. Not only did we have Christmas preparations to do, once harvest ended, we jumped right back into our remodeling projects.

This winter it is the basement rooms. Keith has finished my craft room and Although I have not unpacked, sorted and put away fabric I have bought lots of shelves and finally have places for everything. Every room has been stripped down to the cement walls and is getting new insulation and Sheetrock. New trim and doors need staining and varnishing, lots of mudding and painting going on as well.

December is also the month I needed to do my annual physical and mammogram, I was a month later than usual because of harvest but off I went on December 3rd to see my medical team. That’s when the month started to go south. My mammo showed an irregular spot, which led to an ultra sound, which led to a biopsy and on December 22 I got the call none of us want to hear. The spot was malignant. So on New Year’s Eve I met with a team consisting of an oncologist, a surgeon and a radiation oncologist, I went from terrified to I can do this. The spot is the size of a pea, we caught it at the very beginning stages and I cannot say enough about early detection and annual mammograms. On January 13th, I will have surgery to remove the lump, which no one has been able to feel. If it hasn’t migrated to the lymph nodes, which all 3 doctors are pretty sure it hasn’t, I will have radiation treatments and hopefully go back to my normal life with just this little bump in my road as quickly as possible.

I am so thankful for my doctors, our great medical facilities here and my wonderful family. I know everything is going to be OK and God has this.

Wow Julie what a way to start the year. I am glad they found the lump, and are taking care of it right away.
I hope all is well otherwise. I will keep you in my prayers especially on the 13th.
Take care and Happy New Year.

Wow Julie! What an end to 2020 and beginning to 2021! Will you have enough time to completely heal before you must drive those big trucks again? God bless you and my prayers will include you!

Slowly putting up Christmas decorations. Cool here and cloudy. High of 40's starting tomorrow for 5 days. My Winter Pansies are hanging on and My Wild Yarrow is up. Lily June and I put water in the Birdbaths and clipped some dead Creeping Jenny off the Patio Pots. I am longing for Spring!
