Happy May Everyone!
My husband sent me on an errand today...I ended up at Tractor Supply, bought mealworms for my chicks, drooled over all of their farm kitchen pretties, looked for some green bean seed but they had none.
So I came out and called Had to see if they had room at the restaurant for me. She said yes and so I had lasagne, and brought home half. I also brought home a piece of cake...lemon cello cake. Had had told me six weeks ago that she and her mom shared a piece and it was devine! TRue!
The thing that amazed me was the amount of traffic and the number of people who were out and about. It was just another day in Paradise,I guess. No one was wearing a mask!

Happy May Day everyone and Happy Jubilee Weekend too!! April showers surely brought more May flowers down here. It rained Wednesday night and gave us 1.5 inches and the past two days the world is so green and the flowers are all happy too.

Oh Winnie I love the necklace. I didn't know you could get them with your farm girl sisterhood number.

Hoping to get some outside work done tomorrow. Need to clean up limbs from the storm yesterday. Also need to tie up my rose bush. Looks to be promising when it blooms!

Has anyone ever made Tussie Mussies to put on your neighbors door on May day?

I remember making one when I was in the first grade. I got off the bus and put it on the front door knob and surprised my mom with it. I remember that she loved it. My grandma used to love May Day! I am excited for a new month. Today seems filled with hope to me. It is warm and kind of showery. We had to go the the "big city" today and made it home safely...now I am just enjoying feeling cozy at home!

Denise, I have had these charms for over a decade so not sure they make them the same now? Yes, once a friend and I made some MayDay Tussie Mussies for some friends at work. It was so much fun and a chance to let others know about his long forgotten tradition on May Day.

Happy May Day everyone. My favorite little people blessed me with a May Day Tussie Mussie full of handmade flowers for me and chocolates for grandpa. Than they talked me into letting them spend the night. They didn't have to talk to much to convince me. We have had an excellent day. Mom and dad needed the break and grandma and grandpa needed the cuddles so a good day for everyone.

Julie I remember when my little ones wanted to "pend" the night with us. We would make the sofa sleeper bed out so they could watch one of their little kid videos. Great memories.

Marilyn, the Jubilee days charm was available in the online store for the very first Jubilee celebration. I think the The Queen Bee charm was a gift to me when I was FGOTY in 2014. I love the sentimentality of this necklace and I keep. It hanging in my little sewing area along with the lanyard that belonged to my Mom. She was our senior scout leader and we used to have summer day camp for 2 weeks each year. Mom had her whistle on the end of her lanyard too. The first summer I was a senior scout at camp, the first day we were all taught to make a lanyard and I think most of us kept our Girl Scout pocket knife on it when we were out hiking. MJF and Girl Scouting have many similarities when you consider the emphasis on learning through badges, community service, honestly, loyalty, and integrity in all things we do.

Julie,
there is nothing better than having grandkids spend the night!

Winnie, I have one of the jubilee charms. I need to go see which ones I do have. Lol. I have been cleaning and downsizing and now I have 5 boxes of stuff to go. JT says you can't even tell the stuff is gone. Maybe that means I need to do a bit more!

Here's a photo of my lilacs. Decided to bring some in to enjoy.

Happy late May Day! Rabbit!Rabbit!
Winnie I love my necklace too. I got mine in 2011 when I joined and I got queen bee one too. I dont remember where I got it from.
May started out beautiful here in West Tennessee. No rain forecast for 7 days.Temps in the 70s!! I got my Flower seeds and Tomato plants in the ground!
We had our house painted in December and my old Joshua Plaque that I had by my front door broke. So I got a decal one. Got it on today. This was only 3.00 Free shipping from Amazon.

Beautiful decal Connie. I love your lilacs Denise, our trees have not leafed out yet, so it will be awhile before we get lilacs. I had to run to town this week for chick feed and brought home 2 white/ pink lilac bushes from TSC, the grands just went home so I am heading out to plant them. Going to try to get my beets and carrots seeded as well. Our forecast is calling for rain Monday and Tuesday so perfect time.

Julie, the white lilacs are so pretty. We have three bushes of purple but they haven't bloomed much the past few years.

Warm weather here in Texas. Going to Costco later - got to get out. Will have masks and gloves on. And hand sanitizer in both vehicles.

We went to Granbury yesterday to the UPS store. We were the first ones there. We were returning the direct stuff. As I turned to leave there were 5hree men in line with space between each. Another guy was entering the store. We were the only ones without masks and gloves.
Julie told Robert they had gone to Granbury Friday morning and they were the only ones not wearing masks. 30 miles away...what a difference.
This morning we went to Wal-Mart at 7am. I only saw three masked shoppers.
I do not understand why in some places people do wear them and some do not. I have read that the purpose of wearing a mask keeps some of your germs to you...but a mask does not protect you from other people's germs. So I usually spray my scarf, dress etc. with Thieves. Then I put some under my nose. I use hand sanitizer before I go into the store and again when I get back in the car. When I get home I wash with soap and water several times as I put the stuff away. They had zero toilet tissue today. I don't need any but had thought I would buy some Charmin for Julie for mother's day.Maybe next week???

I guess it's a sign of the times when we buy toilet paper for Mother's Day gifts. Maybe I should drop a hint to my daughter :-)

The masks are to protect others from you first and foremost, not really to protect you. You could be a carrier of the virus and not know it, so the mask protects others from you. I wear a mask. And gloves sometimes. Hand sanitizer in car.

Do you not wear them because you don't like them?

I don't go out much, and we only have 5 cases of the virus in our county but I do and will wear a mask every time. Not only to protect me, but as a courtesy towards others as well. I think toilet paper for a Mothers Day gift is a hoot, I was just thinking flowers or a hanging basket.

I only go out every two weeks for needed things and I always wear a mask. I don't wear it for walking but put it on before entering any building. I feel it is a courtesy to others and just might give me a little protection too.
I had a visitor today -- my first sine March 13. A good friend that moved out of state two years ago flew out here to help her MIL move back to Arkansas. She and her husband both had the virus and recovered. It was such a lovely surprise and really made my day.
