I decided that I wanted Farmgirls to share in the fun with me being an October FGOTM.
This HenHouse giveaway is for Fall mug and little fall treats to enjoy. If you would like to join in this opportunity , just leave me a message with one or two of your favorites about the fall season. I will put the names in a basket and pull out the winner on October 14.
Secondly, I have posted a Halloween Treat or Treat giveaway on the main Chatroom if you wish to join in. My idea of Halloween is fun grinning pumpkins, scarecrows, candy from our childhood days, simple fun costumes, nothing scary etc.
Some of you are already getting beautiful weather and colored leaves. Please celebrate October with me and join in giveaway fun.

| I love the changing of the leaves like we are seeing on this trip trough Wisconsin and Michigan. We don't get this in Texas so I have to decorate more with gourds and pumpkins and fake leaves. Also the pumpkin coffee blends |

I love the red, yellow and orange. In the colors of fall when I go to the mountains. It’s nice to see the fall decorations in the yards and windows and in the stores.

Oh what fun! I don't know what to choose as I love so much about fall.
Cool cozy nights, all the vibrant colors the trees put out and decorating for fall, the tang in the air....I could go on but won't. Lol |

| Winnie, please add my name. I love autumnn, because my mother, me and my daddy all had October birthdays. Mothers was the 6th, and mine was the 7th...so I always told her that I was her gift. Since Texas is almost always warm we don't see many really colorful leaves...but the leaves come down and so do the pecans, if the squirrels don't get there first we get some. |

I sure do love changing leaves too!! We will get some color down here with the few deciduous trees we have like Red Oaks, Red Maples, Florida Maples, Hickory , Sweet gum, Dogwood (quickly dying in this hot region), and probably a few others that I can’t think of at the moment. But those colors will not happen until very late November, December and into early January. If we have a very warm Fall and January, then the trees don’t have good color and just turn brown and drop off as the new leaves push forward.
I do love that all the familiar fall apples, pumpkins, gourds, Indian Corn and the other usual things make their way down to our grocery stores. Marilyn, we also have Pecans that ripen down here as well and are so important for holiday pies traditions at the holidays. We also cut sugar cane and make cane syrup in late November and December. Our Cane Syrup is lighter in taste than Sorgum or molasses and really excellent for Pecan pie. I also love it on pancakes and biscuits. Yum!! Cane harvest and boiling into cane syrup is a local tradition at Family Thanksgiving gatherings. My son in law used to do it every year with his family and is the first time I learned about it, tasted it, and made it into a Pecan pie. I have never gone back to Karo Syrup since I tried Cane syrup. |
