Winnie, you and your hubby will be in my thoughts and prayers. Such a scary time.

Denise, your family members will be in my thoughts and prayers as well.

Karen :)

Winnie -

Prayers for you while dealing with hurricane Ian. We have 2 guest rooms and you are welcome to come to Texas, if needed.

Ed and I have several relatives and friends who live in the path of Ian:
* My brother, David, has a Florida apartment home in St. Petersburg; their place is built to withstand an 18-foot storm surge. His building was built in the 1920s or 30s (I can't remember), and Babe Ruth and several other famous people had homes there. Their building recently had new shutters or storm windows installed and a new roof. Last I heard from him it was expected to be 10-12 Feet and they are not very far from the St. Pete Pier. My brother is currently in NY at his other home - they've been there over a month.
* Ed's son is in Lakeland - he is currently on vacation for 10 days, so is not at home, but worried about possible damages
* My cousin, Jim, is hunkering down at home in North Port; his daughter, SIL and grandson are there with them. This morning they were watching the winds and rains (and the ducks swimming on a pond) out their back windows.
* Ed's cousin's daughter has a winter house in Port Charlotte, where the eye of the storm landed today
* A high school friend of mine has a condo in Punta Gorda; she is currently at home in Atlanta hoping the new roof holds out during Ian's fury.
* Friends we met on our Chinese cruise live at the top of a high rise in Orlando and have been watching the winds and rains from their balcony windows

We've been Praying for everyone in Ian's path. Please stay safe, Winnie. I know that there are quite a few farmgirls in Florida.

So far the kids have only lost power. I am hoping it is no worse than that.

Chilly 39 when I got up this morning. As far as I know the family has fared well through the storm. They were prepared with a generator and stuff for the medical needs. They said power should be back on today but that wasn't for sure.

55 last night; 90 today. DH wants me to go up to the bow club with him this weekend for the annual shoot but as much as I want to I told him I just can't take being in a tin can in the sun if it is still this this warm. It does have an a/c but our generator isn't big enough to power it.

After 50 and 60 degree days we will be in the mid 70s today. Then back to the 50s again for about a week till we hit 70 again. I don't mind the few warmer days thrown in.

Back to the 50s today. But we will still get 70 degree days yet. We had a light frost last week. I don't know how long before we get a frost that will take out the plants.

We are in the mid 70s for the next 3 days. Then some rain and going down to the 60s. Maybe our Indian summer. Don't know but the change is playing havoc with my sinuses. Woke up at 430 this morning with my whole face hurting. Going to use some steam and see if that helps. Already took my meds for it.

Weather change does play havoc with our health. We had our two weeks of lovely 80s and now it's lower 70s in the day and 40s at night and I had to put a quilt on the bed last night. I wish Fall would last a bit longer.

What happened to Fall? Lol. It is supposed to reach 74 here today. I wish I felt better to enjoy it. We will have a typical November of rain, especially on the weekends.

Still warm and humid down here most days. We usually hit the low 80s in the day and mid 60s at night. The long range forecast is suggesting possible cooler weather the week after the one coming up. We shall see what happens.

The hurricane will be passing through us tomorrow all day! I have plenty of good books in case we lose power!

Well we had snow fall on Saturday and Sunday. If you know me you know I love it! Today is to warm to the 40s so snow will be gone soon. I'm sure it will be back again before to long.

We were lucky that Hurricane Nicole only left 3 inches of rain and minor tree debris. Being inland helps us from being where the strongest winds are located. We also never lost power , but a transformer blew across the street leaving everyone on that side without power for about a day and a half. We did have some periods of strong wind gusts of 45mph . A cold front slowly drops down tomorrow and starting Thursday the days will cool way down with highs in 60s and lows down in low 40s. We will need some heat for awhile.

Denise that storm hit us yesterday. Our first snow of the season. It was mostly melted and today we had some flurries. I can still see green grass but it sure did get cold!

You must be in eastern PA. We had it 3 days before you. It snowed a bit yesterday and is supposed to start snowing today. I'm am just loving it. It doesn't stay around much. A few little patches here and there but I haven't seen snow in November since I left NY 40 years ago. I'm a cold weather gal!
