May we always keep this day to remember those who died in battle to protect our freedoms. May we never give up those freedoms willingly, for they would have died in vain.

Sometimes we confuse what each patriot holiday is about. It's nice to have the clarified sometimes as a reminder.

I started reading the guns o August which is how WWI got started and finding it complicated and intriguing at the same time. How thing got so off kilter enough to start this huge war is mind boggling to think about. It was such a turning point of unrest that morphed forward into WWII some 20 years later which was an even bigger and worse event. The Veterans who gave their lives to try and stop the carnage were brave, courageous , and committed while being scared to death at the same time. I am glad that this country has set aside Memorial Day and Veterans Day for citizens to remember the gifts these men and women have given.
