I'd like to find some small ones but they usually sell big ones now. Will probably have to keep an eye out at the antique stores. Come to think of it I haven't been to any antique stores here. I haven't seen any around here.

Great flag, Linda!!

Rockers are awesome. My hubby bought me matching ones from my birthday last year. We have them on our back patio since we don’t have a place in front of our house. I love to sit out there and look into our yard. We also have a swing on our patio. Two of my favorite places to sit. :)

Spent this morning emptying out an amoire from upstairs to the basement craft area. Had to take all the fabric out and take them downstairs to the first level and then moved the amoire to the basement. Now I have to get the drawers and put them back as well as the fabric. At least I see what I have. A few bolts I store in the big bottom drawers, fat quarters and smaller pieces and batting in the 5 side drawers and the bigger pieces behind the door on shelves. I tend to squirrel things away wherever I can. I think I have packages of batting in the dresser of the other guest bedroom. I really need to do some sewing. I am using some of the fabric from the bolts to make curtains for one of the bedrooms. It has 2 windows side by side so I will make two sets. Should use quite a bit of fabric. It was intended for curtains in our living room at the old house in NJ. I might make some throw pillows for the bed in that room to match the curtains. Sounding energetic aren't I?
How is your day going?

Denise, you do sound energetic! It sounds like you have a wonderful set up in your new home for your craft area too. It is such a necessity to get things where you can find them and use them for whatever needs getting done. I bet moving was a huge help is sorting out what to keep and donate before you left NJ. It must be so nice to now have things more organized because that makes it more fun to do projects.

Winnie,
One of my downfalls according to some is that I am an organizer by nature. Messy sometimes but I usually know where everything is and that's a plus when they are looking for or needing something. I'm sure it sounds odd but I enjoy doing the organizing.

Sounds like me, too, in a way I have large piles of things in my sewing/craft room, but I can usually find what I am looking for. LOL!

I'm an organizer too. 50 years of working in libraries taught me well. My problem is DH is a hoarder and major slob. They say opposites attract. The problem being an organizer is when something is not in its place you have no idea where to look.

I know Judith, it frustrates when something is not put back. Unless it is mine. I am my own worst enemy when it comes to putting things away. I don't know how I can be so organized and yet do that. Doesn't make sense at all.

Today Ed and I are heading toward a place called 80 Acres in East Texas. They say it ia in an old family home in Gulmer, TX. It sounds like it is very similar to Magnolia. Then we might hit some antique and thrift shops in Gladewater.

This is our front patio area. It is nice to sit there in the evening when the sun is not blaring. It is getting to be too hot now, but on a cooler evening it will be wonderful. The brick wall was original with the house and they had a gravel floor. I found the glider and 2 chairs at a thrift shop for $75 and got new cushions for them. The paver stones on the floor we got for free through our city FB page. Someone was offering over 200 of them if picked up and we got them last fall. A few months ago when Ed laid them down he was short about 50. I asked on the same site if anyone might have a few they were taking out or didn't need and someone responded. We went and picked them up. Ed had to cut several in half for along the house and fireplace and did a super job! I love the area.

May sister gave us the concrete house several years ago and we got the gnomes at Hobby Lobby last week.

Linda, your front patio area is gorgeous and what a fantastic find of lawn furniture for such a good price. That little gnome house is adorable and it makes me think of my mother who thought gnomes were so cute and fun. And what a huge bargain you found for those paver stones. WOWZA!! They really do add a good looking touch to the entire area and Ed did an awesome job putting them down. We had our driveway and sidewalk up to the front door done in them two years ago and it was expensive. I love a good porch area to enjoy being outside when the weather is good.

Yes, he is a keeper! It is nice to sit out there if it isn't too hot. We are possibly going to hit our first temps over 100 this week. YUK!! So won't be sitting out there for a while.

Good morning all! How is it June already? I feel like I have lost most of this year die to health issues, but am so thankful I have the opportunity this morning to pop in and say hello! Linda, your porch is gorgeous! My hubby is a HUGE fan of brick, but it isn't something seen to often where we are. Perhaps one day he will have his dream brick house. Right now, we are enjoying the home and life God has given us and striving to be thankful for it. We are slowly getting our garden planted, and are looking forward to harvesting it in a few months. The children are busy in 4H as normal.

Field trip to Linda’s house (during cooler temps) to sit on her porch!! It’s beautiful!!!

As for organizing…I heard a saying that goes “if it takes less than a minute, put it away!” I have tried to incorporate that saying in daily life. It has worked really well for me.. for instance, I would usually come home from somewhere and take my shoes off near the door or my chair…after a few days there would be quite a pile…now I actually just go into my room and take my shoes off and put them away. But it has also been helpful for all the times that I just want to set something down. Baby steps.

Shannon, good to see you. Hope you can pop in a little more often.

Karen, it would definitely have be when Linda has cooler weather!

Heading to KY to pick up a sick grandchild. Think it's a 24 hr thing but she can't stay at camp sick.
She was only there one full day.
