Started decorating my mantle for Fall. Makes the season seem longer. Even is it is still hot.

Denise, I'm glad you are decorating too.
We hopefully are going to stay just below the 100° mark today. Then we go back to the searing heat. Our world is brown...brown grass covered in lots of brown leaves, brown Weeds, brown trees. It is so sad. (Let's hope a fire does not start.)

Yes, Marilyn, we need rain!!! Our last water bill was over $214, and I think Ed has watered more this month.

Sunflowers are so pretty! The farmers plant them around the whole edges of the corn crops, I think to keep the deer out. It is beautiful!

We have been having storms with a little rain. Everything is still green here. Prayers you get rain there.

Deer ate our sunflowers, and daisies and honeysuckle, which I had always heard was poisonous.

It was many years ago. We finally learned how to plant for deer and had good fences. They won't touch lavender and rosemary. Rather too bad since rosemary flavored venison would really be good.

Getting in the mood even though we will probably still have warm Temps. We moved in here a year ago on the 5th and it wasn't near as hot this year as last. I have hope for a cool fall and a snowy winter!

Today I need to get my car inspected and pay the annual registration renewal and Ed needs to renew his flatbed trailer registration. Ed's gotten a lot of bricks and some decorative limestones from the new houses across the street to take to his house. He made friends with the builder early when they started building and the builder told Ed that whatever was thrown in certain piles he could have, so he's picked up lumber and bricks. Now I just hope he uses it and doesn't just pile it up someplace. There are 4 more houses to be built later this year or early next year.

Our mornings are becoming cool and gratefully the air conditioner does not kick on. We are having 70s and low 80s this week. Really putting me in the mood for decorating. I've done a little but haven't gotten everything out yet. I imagine we will still get a bit warmer but I am so ready for lighting those fall candles and filling the house with the smells of baking. Just don't want to heat the house up just yet. I did buy a new Fall candle though.

I need to have Ed bring down the fall decoration boxes. Love the scented warmer cubes to fill the air with fall scents.

Then after fall comes all the Christmas decorations!

Denise, lucky you to be having some cooler mornings. It does put one in the mood for September and Fall! Currently, I have my little tree decorated with apples since summer apples are ripe and being enjoyed by many who live near orchards or have them in their yards.

Hello everyone,

Doing a bit of catching up before I leave for the maritimes. I am so looking forward to a "get away from it all" ... surrounded by the sea, nature and lots of fresh seafood. I'll have to remember to eat vegetables and not just seafood! LOL

Not much going on here ... still knitting ... its what keeps me sane! lol

Cheers!

Carole,
It is difficult not to eat as much seafood as you can when it is so readily available! Enjoy your R&R time!
